Awards ceremony organised by World Gospel Powerhouse which honours, celebrates and promotes the talent and accomplishments of the South gospel music industry in the past year.

The awards ceremony this year - the 11th annual event - is broadcast live from the Durban ICC, with nominees in 34 categories.

Of particular interest to TV viewers will be the battle for Best Gospel TV Show, contested by Gospel Unplugged (SABC1), Gospel Countdown (Soweto TV), Greater Works with Minister Harry (1Gospel) and According to the Bible (Soweto TV).

The ceremony will be hosted by Pearl Modiadie and Lawrence Maleka. 

Presenters include Dingaan Khumalo (Muvhango), Clement Maosa (Skeem Saam), Gugu Gumede (Uzalo), Brenda Mhlongo (Generations: The Legacy) and It’s Gospel Time’s Thabiso Mokgethi and Rebecca Malope.

Almost News with Chester Missing

This satirical news show takes an irreverent look at the current affairs landscape and put high-profile politicians through their paces in interviews - with a puppet.

The show was conceived as a build-up to the elections next year, and Chester (controlled by comedian Conrad Koch) will always have the last word: "You thought the elections were going to be serious? Ridiculous! Almost News with Chester Missing will solve that, comrades. We will bring you 24 minutes of 100% undiluted tjatjaragness, every single week."
