Nat Geo Wild is a Pan-African version of the European broadcaster of the same name, hosted on the DStv satellite platform, which places the emphasis on 'wild', and is dedicated to wildlife programming, the power of mother nature and the future of our planet.

Launching in South Africa on DStv on 26 March, 2008, this 24-hour channel is dedicated to the best in wildlife programming, the power of mother nature and the future of our planet.
A spin-off from National Geographic Channel more focused on the 'wild' aspect of wildlife and nature, The channel is a joint venture between National Geographic and Fox Cable Networks.
Originally a premium channel on DStv, it was added to the Compact bouquet on 13 November, 2012. The channel was added to the StarSat satellite platform on 17 October, 2016.
Nat Geo Wild offers intimate encounters with nature's ferocious fighters and gentle creatures of land, sea and air that draw upon the cutting-edge work of the many explorers, filmmakers and scientists of the National Geographic Society.
Shows to air at launch included Hunter Hunted, Planet Carnivore, Brilliant Beasts, Bug Attack: The Blood Suckers, Monster Crocs and Dangerous Encounters: Monster Bite.
The channel was discontinued on StarSat on 30 September, 2019. It was re-added on 24 February, 2020.
