BritBox is a digital subscription video on demand service which can be accessed via a wide variety of Internet-connected devices in South Africa, offering a range of British entertainment co-branded by BBC and ITV.

The service in South Africa is equally owned by BBC Studios and ITV plc at 50% shares each.

BritBox is a digital subscription video on demand service offering a comprehensive collection of British entertainment available in one place.

Co-branded by BBC and ITV, BritBox delivers UK programmes ranging from original commissions to "favourite gems" across a variety of genres, including drama, crime thrillers, classic comedy and documentaries, alongside reality shows and entertainment.

BritBox is available on multiple platforms, including via the web, mobile, tablet, streaming devices and connected TVs.

With the strong support of BBC and ITV providing a pipeline of content, BritBox is home to exclusive content from its parent companies, in addition to new original commissions from British production companies specifically created for BritBox.

Launching in the United States in March 2017, BritBox started streaming in South Africa on 6 August, 2021.

Titles available at launch included police drama Line of Duty, exclusive crime drama Professor T, and Prince Charles and Princess Diana's 1981 wedding in the feature-length documentary Wedding of the Century.

Other BritBox titles which debuted soon on the service included Annika starring Nicola Walker, Deadwater Fell with David Tennant and The Larkins featuring Bradley Walsh.

There was also Michael Apted's multi-award winning documentary series Up, plus fresh seasons of established shows such as Manhunt 2 starring Martin Clunes, Unforgotten 4, Endeavour 8 Vera 11, Grantchester 6 and The Syndicate 4.
