Unefa!

Channel: 1Magic (DStv 103)
TX Time: 20h30
Genre: Reality

Unefa!

We all wish we had a rich aunt who left us a sizable family inheritance so we can get the financial boost we need to finally make ends meet - or simply level up and live comfortably for the rest of our lives.

This series follows the lives of South Africans who are surprised by the fact that they have an unclaimed inheritance.

The show's premise is created on the fact that every year many South Africans pass on, leaving their loved ones with the gift of an inheritance, but every year many South Africans miss their blessings and never receive that money.

This may be due to incorrect personal details (where their information was either wrongly logged or not updated) or the beneficiary is a minor at the time of death, resulting in payment where the money is held by the Guardian's Fund.

Others don't receive their funds for sneakier reasons, such as lack of transparency between family members.

The show will trace the relationship between the family and the deceased, while sharing the beneficiary's healing process.

Each episode culminates with their reaction during the moment of truth when the big surprise is revealed: that they will be receiving an inheritance.

Unefa! is hosted by Motlatsi Mafatshe. The show also starts a run on Mzansi Magic on Wednesday 7 July.

OppieStoep 5

Channel: kykNET (DStv 144)
TX Time: 19h30
Genre: Talk Show, Afrikaans

OppieStoep 5

South Africans like a good story. If it's a story that makes them laugh, all the better.

This is what OppieStoep has demonstrated over the years: not only do we like to laugh, but we are blessed with a wealth of excellent storytellers.

For the fifth season of OppieStoep, Lyntjie Jaars joins Pietman Geldenhuys in front of the cameras as a new host.

The season also boasts a new set as well as storytellers who are part of the program for the first time.

Lyntjie is proudly South African and a native of Namakwalander who has worked as a radio and TV presenter, master of ceremonies and motivational speaker in recent years.

She has a gift for collecting stories and has already visited the country as well as the rest of the African continent to not only reach out, but also motivate.

Among the guests that Pietman and Lyntjie invited to visit are Andries Vermeulen (who nowadays focuses on the ministry), Hannes van Wyk, Gerrie Pretorius, Margit Meyer-Rödenbeck, Poem Mooney, Danneline Ramsden, Wicus van der Merwe and Ds. André Boezak.

As before, Schalk Joubert is responsible for the music and invited someone in the music industry to come and play with him in each episode.

Some of these musicians include Robin Auld, Ramon Alexander, Pierre-Henri Wicomb, Albert Frost and Gian Groen.

Ifalakhe

Channel: Mzansi Wethu (DStv 163)
TX Time: 21h00
Genre: Drama, Period Drama

Ifalakhe

The story of the powerful Okuhle tribe and their war against the Khanya people, who have been raiding their cattle and killing their women and children.

Making the situation even more complex is that Khombindlela, the Okuhle king, finds his tribe on the brink of harsh repercussions from a prophecy that hangs over his head.

This prophecy not only threatens his lineage of the rule of his true heir but also gives him the unnerving task of ensuring it does not come to fruition.

Heavy indeed is the head that wears the crown...

The series investigates the adverse effect of multiple twisted agendas and manipulation of power from the kings themselves, as well as from characters such as the king's wives – who have their own selfish ambitions.

The series is set in pre-colonial Southern Africa and stars Uzalo head writer Chris Q. Radebe, Bheki Sibiya, Bheki Ngcobo and Sthandwa Nzuza.

Mnakwethu 2

Hosted by Musa Mseleku, Mnakwethu is a reality show that gives married men a chance to overcome the fear of introducing polygamy to their current wives.

Although polygamy still raises eyebrows and is often viewed as primitive and sexist, it is an age-old practice that continues to thrive on the African continent and across the globe.

As a man in a polygamous marriage himself, Mseleku shares first-hand experiences of the ups and downs of a polygamous marriage.
