Nhlanhla Mdlalose is a South African actor best known for his recurring role as Bongani on the Mzansi Magic soap opera Isibaya.

Hailing from Ladysmith in KwaZulu-Natal, he made his television debut as a waiter in an episode of the e.tv drama series 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls, in 2010.

His breakout role was as Bongani in Isibaya, appearing in all eight seasons of the show from 2013-2021.

Later in 2013 he was one of the "Vuka Kleva Guardians" in the SABC1 reality series Vuka Kleva, in which 12 troublesome teens are placed under the care of counsellors for 12 days and are put through a series of activities, chores, interactions and consultations with experts which enable them to understand their current reality so that they can make decisions to change.

Also in 2013, Nhlanhla had a guest starring role as Young Shudu, the hip hop-loving, obnoxious cousin of Guavs (played by Vusi Simelane), in the Mzansi Magic comedy crime caper miniseries Uyaphapha.

The following year he starred in a TV movie called The Imposter, which aired on Mzansi Magic and Mzansi Wethu as part of the "Lokshin Bioskop" strand of themed one-hour movies.

In the movie he played a con artist who is mistaken for someone else, and decides to play along in order to win the heart of a beautiful young lady. But then his urges to steal resurface and he is forced to choose between money and his lady love.

The Imposter first aired on Mzansi Magic on Friday 9 May, 2014.

In 2015, Nhlanhla had a cameo role as a priest in the SABC2 sitcom Skwizas and played a sangoma in the e.tv drama series Umlilo.

In 2018 he was one of the featured "cases" on the Moja Love comedy series Judge Thenjiwe Khambule, in an episode which aired on 3 November (Season 2, Episode 12).

He later had another starring role in an Mzansi Original Movie, this time in the production The Red Candle, about a loving and loyal family man who is framed for fraud, but with the help of his friend gets cleared of any wrongdoing.

The telemovie first aired on Mzansi Magic on Saturday 28 March, 2020.

He also had a major recurring role as Sgora in the fifth season of the Mzansi Magic drama series Rockville, making his first appearance in the season premiere on 4 April, 2021.

In the same year Nhlanhla had a recurring role as Sbambura in the drama series Nqobile, which premiered on 1Magic on 3 July and on Mzansi Magic on 5 July, 2021.
