As she is thrust into a male-dominated industry and a new position of power, the series reveals everything she must do to negotiate her freedom, maintain respect and thrive.
The series mirrors real life and real-time scenarios such as the battle between e-hailing services and traditional meter taxis, whilest exploring issues such as gender-based violence.
The show is set against the luxurious aesthetic of Leondale streets and is juxtaposed with less opulent environments, where hustling is a way of life.

Belinda Swanepoel (Brümilda van Rensburg), a former actress, has an obsession with mirrors, spending all of her time looking at herself and forgetting about customers at the cash register.
Annetjie Nel (Annelisa Weiland), a militarist spinster, marches around barking orders at everyone whilst trying to keep an eye on Ian's wife, who likes to take without paying.
Then there is the poor, charming farm hero Frans Wessels (Eric Nobbs), who tries to keep the peace between Annetjie and Belinda, but rarely succeeds.
Together they must face the challenges of old age, but also learn that life is full of second chances and that one is never too old to have fun.
As Season 2 gets underway, it's a few years later and life with Ian & Others is dull and boring.

The story of Secrets at the hotel begins in 1908, when Julio Olmedo and Isabel Alarcón travel on the same train to the Gran Hotel, property of the Alarcón family.
Both of them are unaware of the fact that their lives will take a new twist there, brought about by love, treason and the secrets hidden there.
Julio travels there looking for his twin sister, Cristina, who stopped writing to him months ago.
Isabel comes after being summonsed by her mother, the matriarch Teresa Langre Widow of Alarcón, who has fixed her wedding with Diego Montejo, who is part of the Gran Hotel's management.
A series of murders take place in the town where the hotel is, along with Cristina Olmedo's vanishing, and detective Serapio Ayala arrives from the capital city to clear them up.
Nevertheless, during his stay, the mysteries around the place pile up and become more difficult to figure out every time.
Ayala is a science lover and he relies on it to solve any case he is assigned to.
Olmedo joins the Gran Hotel as a waiter and there he meets Andrés Salinas, son of Ángela Gómez, the housekeeper.
A good friendship grows between Julio and Andrés, which turns into a brotherhood. Andrés helps Julio investigate what happened to his sister.
Andrés is in love with Belén García, an unscrupulous maid who manages to convince Andrés that the child she is expecting is a product of her affair with Diego Montejo.
Sofía Alarcón is Teresa's oldest daughter, married to Alfredo Vergara, the heir of a traditional family lineage.
Sofía is pregnant, but she loses her baby and her obsession with having a child finally undermines her weak mental health.
Felipe Alarcón is a young man who has always lived under the protection of his mother.
She has made him a weak man and now he is very far from being the heir his father always wanted him to be.
Ángela Salinas, the housekeeper of the Gran Hotel, knows every corner of the place and every person that has been in there in the past 30 years.

When Donatello dies in the hospital following a routine surgery, the tenuous truce is threatened.
Josto Fadda (Jason Schwartzman) takes up his father's mantle, but his efforts to stabilise the organisation are undermined by his brother, Gaetano, who has joined the family in Kansas City after building a reputation for ruthlessness in Italy.
