Charmed 2

Channel: M-Net City (DStv 115)
TX Time: 19h10
Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Supernatural

Charmed 2

Demons, ghosts, vampires, necromancers - none stood a chance against the bonds of sisterhood.

After the murder of their mother Marisol, sisters Mel and Maggie Vera discovered they not only had an older half-sister - the brilliant geneticist Macy - but that with the "Power of Three," they are among the most formidable witches in the world.

Having accepted their new destiny as The Charmed Ones, they joined forces with "Whitelighter" witch advisor Harry Greenwood to stop the impending apocalypse.

But saving the world is a tall order, especially when you're not even sure what your place is in that world.

Yes, Mel can stop time with the wave of a hand, but she can't keep her girlfriend Niko safe - and is forced to rewrite history so the two never met.

Yes, Maggie can read minds, but she couldn't tell that new boyfriend Parker was a half-demon tasked with stealing her and her sisters' powers.

And, sure, Macy can move objects with her mind, but she still reels from being abandoned as a child by her mother.

As if that wasn't enough, Macy, it turns out, isn't the "half-sister" after all - Mel is - causing identity crises for both Mel and Maggie.

In the end, the Charmed Ones defeated demons (both personal and actual), prevented the apocalypse, and saved countless Hilltowne innocents... thanks to Macy absorbing "The Source," the ultimate power that fuels all magic.

The sisters and Harry are battle-scarred but stronger than ever and hoping that life will be a bit simpler now that disaster has been averted.

But is life for the Charmed Ones ever simple?

Season 1 ended with their family relationships intact but their romantic lives in flux. Macy is mourning a lost love just as Harry's feelings towards her surface.

Maggie and Mel both face uncertain romantic prospects. And with The Elders now dead, the magical community turns to the powerful sisters for guidance.

Seems the Vera-Vaughn sisters are now in charge. And this New World Order will be even more complicated than anything they ever imagined.

In the Season 2 premiere, "Safe Space": Following the devastating loss of The Elders, Mel, Maggie and Macy take over their duties.

Maggie takes time to celebrate her birthday with a big bash, but Mel finds herself too preoccupied with their new responsibilities to join in the fun.

As the girls clean up the following morning, Macy shocks her sisters with an announcement.

A mysterious hooded foe attacks The Charmed Ones who escape through a portal while Harry has an unnerving encounter with the villain.

The girls land in a secret location where they uncover more about the mystical world of The Elders... and community workspaces.

Macy nurses a serious wound and Maggie meets a handsome stranger.

The Charmed Ones quickly become aware of the gravity of their new roles and must decide if they are truly prepared for the responsibility.

White House Farm

Channel: BBC First (DStv 119)
TX Time: 21h00
Genre: Drama, Period Drama, True Crime

White House Farm

This six part factual drama revolves around one fateful night in August 1985 when five members of the same family were murdered at an Essex farmhouse: Sheila Caffell, her twin six-year-old sons, Daniel and Nicholas, and her parents, Nevill and June Bamber.

The series will seek to provide fresh insight into this family tragedy and the contested accounts of the events that took place at White House Farm.

Essex Police initially believed that Sheila, who had mental health problems, had murdered her own family before turning the gun on herself.

But Detective Sergeant Stan Jones had doubts about the murder-suicide theory, and about Sheila's brother Jeremy Bamber, who first called the police to the farm.

Eventually, it was Jeremy Bamber who was charged and convicted of the murders of his own parents, sister and nephews.

Bamber is currently serving life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. He is one of the few prisoners in the UK subject to a whole-life order. He still maintains his innocence.

In the series premiere: In the early hours of Wednesday 7th August 1985, police in Chelmsford receive a phone call from local farmer Jeremy Bamber.

Officers are called to an incident at his parents' farmhouse, White House Farm.

Jeremy's sister Sheila, mother June, father Nevill and twin nephews Nicholas and Daniel are all found dead.

The case appears to be open-and-shut to investigating officer DI Thomas 'Taff' Jones, who concludes that Sheila, who had mental health problems, is responsible for killing her parents and children, and then herself.

But for DS Stan Jones, something doesn't feel right. Stan's concerns bring him into conflict with his superior officer Taff.

He is given the responsibility of family liaison and told to toe the line.

Restaurants on the Edge 2

Three food and design experts travel the world to revive failing restaurants by connecting them to the local culture beyond their gorgeous views.

Each hour-long episode invites you into a new restaurant located in a stunning location — on the edge of an ocean, a mountain, or desert.

But despite their outstanding views, these eateries are struggling to create an experience that lives up to their incredible surroundings.

A team of experts lead the way in restaurant transformations that span 10 countries across the 13 episodes: chef Dennis Prescott, designer Karin Bohn and restaurateur Nick Liberato.

By tapping into the soul of the restaurant's surroundings and its community, and by incorporating local tastes, flavours and textures, each expert embarks on a journey to transform not just the restaurant, but the owners' outlook as well.

Featuring breathtaking locations and diverse ways of life, Restaurants on the Edge focuses on creating outstanding restaurant experiences by making connections with local communities and cultures.
