Dream: The Lebo Mathosa Story

This six-part series illustrates the life and times of celebrated musician Lebo Mathosa, who spiralled to fame as a lead member of the pioneering kwaito group Boom Shaka, before pursuing a solo career.

Lebo went on to climb charts and win a number of the industry's biggest awards. She also performed at some of the country's most historic events, including a memorable show at Nelson Mandela's 85th birthday party.

The story begins in the heart of the '90s during the kwaito evolution when Mathosa rose to fame and became a household name.

She was renowned for her unapologetic demeanour, provocative dance moves, edgy fashion sense, trendy hairstyles and infectious tunes.

KB Motsilanyane portrays the adult Lebo as she experiences the highs and lows of the music industry, which placed her as a music icon on a global stage.

Bahumi Madisakwane will depict the youthful Mathosa as she traverses the journey of finding her feet and realising her dream.

The series is a collaboration between BET Africa and Ochre Media together with the Gauteng Film Commission and the Department of Trade and Industry.

Spyskaart 2

Channel: SABC2
TX Time: 19h00
Genre: Food, Magazine

Spyskaart 2

A magazine-style show which takes a tasty trip around South Africa to find out how food is produced, sharing recipes and cultivating a love for seasonal and ethical ingredients.

The programme format is similar to a three- or four-course meal: each insert is made up of one course, which is prepared and served at different locations including restaurants, lodges, hotels, private homes, farms or in natural surroundings.

The goal is that you be left with a full understanding of the main ingredient of each course at the end of the show.

For instance, if the ingredient for the dessert is apples, the show goes to the orchard to find out how and where it is grown, then explore different varieties and follow the harvesting process through to the packaging.

Then the show will use this ingredient to make the dish on the menu.

In the Season 2 premiere, "Proe Soos Mode": the new season kicks off with fashionable ingredients.

For starters, Lindé and Yolani find out more about CBD oil and use it in hummus and flatbread.

For the main course, Lindé learns how to make kimchi that she uses in her Korean short rib wraps and active charcoal inspires Yolani to make a black pavlova for dessert.
