Law & Order: Special Victims Unit 23

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, now in its 23rd season, chronicles the life and crimes of the Special Victims Unit of the New York City Police Department, an elite squad of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes.

As acting commander of the SVU, Sergeant Olivia Benson is a seasoned veteran of the unit who has seen it all.

She leads with empathy and professionalism, all the while dealing with her difficult past as a product of rape, and her future as mother to a young child, both of which influence the way she relates to each victim in need of help.

Detective Odafin Fin Tutuola adds a unique sense of humour and undercover investigative experience, making him a formidable match for any partner.

Detective Amanda Rollins has earned her place as an integral part of the team while facing head-on the emotional toll it takes to work SVU.

Detective Dominick Sonny Carisi brings a fresh outlook and distinctive style of investigation to the squad.

In the Season 23 premiere, "And the Empire Strikes Back": As the investigation into a sex-for-housing scheme expands, Benson's loyalty to Garland is tested.

Meanwhile, Rollins and Carisi try to keep their witnesses on board when a powerful congressman is identified as a suspect.

Real-life ghost stories in the isolated and frigid Alaskan landscape are explored through captivating interviews and evocative re-creations.

Spirits lurk in the shadows of Alaska's isolated cabins, tormenting families and leaving them no choice but to turn to paranormal investigators as their last hope.

But, in a land as remote as Alaska, when someone is threatened by unknown entities, will anyone hear their cries for help before it's too late?

In the series premiere, "Buried Secrets": Looking for a fresh start, the Cristallo family moves from California to the former gold-mining town of Salcha, Alaska.

But when Lita and her daughter Bonnie break ground on their new dream home, they release a scary secret buried in the ice.

After terrifying run-ins with a shadowy figure, the women realise they're sharing the cozy cabin with a cold spirit.

A ghost-hunting team is called in to expel the menacing entity, but little do they know that a chilling discovery awaits them beneath the snow.

Elephants: Changing Lives

Few animals have more complex societies and interactions than elephants.

For these slow-growing, long-lived animals, survival is totally dependent on knowledge passed down from family members and from the constant support of the herd.

It's no wonder we find them so endearing.

Blowing Up History 5

How were the most iconic and historic buildings of the ancient and medieval worlds built?

This documentary series uses 'blow apart' CGI animation to reveal their secrets.

Coming up, why is the tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings so unique?

With rare access and using the latest technology, teams of archaeologists are finally finding the answers.

And new investigations are slowly uncovering the secret history of the world's most iconic monument.

The great Sphinx at Giza has mystified historians for generations, but an extraordinary new investigation is about to reveal which pharaoh the Sphinx was built for - and an astonishing religious connection.

Using details from the latest archaeological investigations combined with X-Ray and LiDar scanning technologies, this series explodes the myths and mysteries behind the world's most iconic buildings and reveals, stone by stone, the truth about their construction from their foundations up.

In the Season 5 premiere, "Mystery of the Volcano Temple": The Pantheon is a 2,000-year-old temple with a dark secret.

Today, using cutting-edge archaeological methods and brand-new evidence, experts look beneath the streets of Rome to find out why it was built and how it survived so long.

So prepare for more depraved schemes, half-baked arguments, and absurdly underhanded plots to subvert one another.
