M-Net City (DStv 115)
Revolves around two women who have been best friends since high school and now find themselves at the centre of a circle of thirtysomething friends.
Together, these working professionals face the challenges of demanding careers and the first years of pregnancy and child-rearing - a balancing act that requires all the super-powers they can muster.
Will their friendship be strong enough to withstand life's raging storms, or will their bonds start dissolving at the first signs of nasty weather?
The friends have to deal with problems such as a lingering love affair, a struggle with infertility, fierce competitiveness, even fiercer love and a truly inconceivable act that will change their world.
The series poses the question: What is the price of parenting? And is there any force stronger than a mother's love?
Anel Alexander stars as Marieke Meyer, a qualified gynaecologist with two kids who may just need a little more love and attention from their always-in-crisis-mode mommy.
Marieke's bestie from high school and varsity, Rachel Bishop (played by Carine Rous), is an advocate who specialises in criminal law.
In contrast to Marieke, who is not always in touch with everything that's trendy and fashionable, Rachel is your prototype A-personality. For her, it's perfection at all costs. She is nine months pregnant.

1Magic (DStv 103)
This single-camera comedy follows a widowed dad, Kenan (Kenan Thompson), who's juggling a high-profile job as the host of an Atlanta morning show and raising his two girls.
As Kenan tries to move on, his father-in-law (Don Johnson), brother and co-workers all have strong opinions on the best way to live his life.
The show centres on the familial relationships as Kenan tries to reclaim his life after his wife's death.
Kenan's daughters are his world – the too smart Aubrey and the silly, unpredictable Birdie.
He struggles to balance parenting them as a single dad and hosting his show, which leads him to reluctantly accept help from his father-in-law, Rick.
Rick was a gallivanting sax player when his daughter, Cori, was young and missed out on a lot of her childhood, so he is aiming to make that up with his granddaughters, although his old-school parenting style does not often match up to Kenan's.
At work, Kenan excels at his job with the help of his driven executive producer, Mika.
Mika can be tightly wound, especially when Gary, as Kenan's not-so-managerial manager, tries to insert himself, but Mika remains a confidante and ally to Kenan.
They are able to be vulnerable with one another and connect as friends... and maybe something more.
In the series premiere, "Pilot": Kenan thinks he's adjusted to life as a busy, single parent but after everyone confronts him about denying his grief, he realises it's time to make some changes.
Gary thinks it's time for Rick to move out of the house.

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives 2
Discovery Family (DStv 136 / StarSat 222)
Food, Reality, Travel
Guy Fieri knows a thing or two about hearty, flavoursome food, and in this series he travels across America - and beyond - in search of the best "greasy spoon" eateries.
These diners, drive-ins and dives have been doing it right for decades, and these days they're booming again.
Run by a whole new generation of owners, these joints serve up delicious home-made food and Guy is hitting the road to check them out.
Whether it's a shack on the side of the highway or a sports bar in Vegas, Guy samples their best dishes and chats to the locals who are regulars in these iconic regional restaurants.
From a Jamaican joint serving fried chicken to an Ottawa eatery's 400-year-old cod cake recipe, these are the kind of places that make America great.
In the Season 2 premiere, "Totally Fried": Guy searches for great joints where they're frying up a storm.
These include a classic half-century old diner in Philadelphia, where a French trained chef is frying international specialties like spring rolls with duck confit.
There's also a classic drive-in where Californians line up for deep fried falafel and a small town café where even the French classic, Chicken Cordon Bleu, is deep fried.
In the second episode of the weekday double bill, "Route 66": Guy travels this classic American highway for great food at great places.
There are homemade biscuits and gravy at a 60-year-old trucker's paradise near Victorville, California; and homemade German spaetzle and jagerschnitzel at an Oklahoma cafe built from rocks dug up in the construction of route 66.
There's also apple smoked salmon and pecan crusted catfish at a Kansas joint in a former bank once robbed by Jesse James.
