In the second season of the reality series Moer 'n Boer (Beat a Farmer), 28 farmers swap their tractors and harvesters for the exciting world of mixed martial arts (MMA), all while continuing to farm.
The series moves to kykNET from VIA, which aired the first season.
Under the guidance of UFC fighter Cameron Saaiman and driven by host Janneman van den Berg, viewers will follow the farmers' journey from the fields to the fighting cage.
The series will showcase the farmers' road to self-discovery, their hard work and dedication, as well as the camaraderie and conflict along the way.
Neil Geyser and Dwain Meredith serve as the farmers' coaches.
In the Season 2 premiere: 80 farmers from across the country take part in knockout challenges.
Twenty-eight farmers are selected, and in Episode 2 they find out who made the cut.
They are split into two teams: the red team and the blue team, each with a captain.
In Episodes 3 and 4, Janneman travels across the country visiting the farmers on their farms, meeting their people, and learning more about their unique farming operations.
But the series isn't just about farming and fighting. The farmers must also prove their mettle in other ways — from a shooting competition to a braai contest.
There's even an episode where they face the media during a press conference.
Episode 10 focuses on traditional farmer sports, with Season 1 participants returning for tug-of-war, spitting bok-drol (antelope droppings), and dam-building competitions.
Naturally, the big fight at the Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria is the cherry on top, and with Ricus de Beer — better known as Radio Raps — announcing from ringside, it's guaranteed fun.
The series concludes with Episode 13, where Janneman, Cameron and the 28 farmers reunite for a glamorous reunion.
