Come Dine With Me South Africa 8

Come Dine With Me South Africa returns, featuring extrovert and eccentric contestants from Johannesburg and Cape Town.

The show, featuring "the good, the bad and the hungry" will continue to be narrated by the voiceover legend Dave Lamb.

The format follows four amateur chefs as they each host a three-course dinner party for the other contestants at their own home.

Competitors then rate the host's food and hosting skills at the end of each evening, with the highest-scoring chef winning R10,000 cash.

In the Season 8 premiere: In the North of Johannesburg four colourful and creative personalities compete to host the best dinner party.

They are master yogi Paiger, bachelor Brendan, creative cool-cat Mandisa, and home-exec Qudsiya.

It's night one and yogi Paige is the first to host.

She goes full force with her Afrikaans inspired menu, loaded up with big pieces of meat, loads of butter and a Driehoek Kaaskoek to finish it off.

Her not-made-to-order steaks set her back but a round of party tricks save the day with ventriloquism, contortion and sound effects on offer.

On night two Bougie Brendon kicks off in the style of a true actuary, calculated and clean.

With Harry Potter wand in hand, he whips up an impressive three-course meal fit for a Michelin star; for starters Handkerchief pasta on a Sweet Corn Veloute, for the main Roasted Lamb and a truffle infused Wild Mushroom Risotto, and for dessert his take on a deconstructed Banoffee Pie.

Not just a feast for the eyes and the belly, but one for the heart too, leading the conversation to Brendon's relationship status.

It's night three and Mandisa is ready to make art in her kitchen.

Her dress code "The best version of yourself" reveals synergy in the group when all arrive in matching pink accents.

Her opening act, an Indian inspired Dhal Makhani, receives mixed reviews from her two India-loving guests Paige and Qudsiya.

She tries to bring it back with a health bowl and a song but it's her Ample Crumble dessert with a side of feet that really steal the show.

The final host is married mom of two Qudsiya, she turns up the heat with spice at every stage of the night from a chilli infused welcome drink to a painfully hot game of truth or dare.

She serves an abundance of food, proving that in her home more is more.

For starters she served Fish Tikka and Mussels, for the main a South African Indian dish comprising of multiple smaller dishes that left her guests overwhelmed, and finally her favourite Pakistani dessert Rasmalai.

No doubt Paige was in heaven but was her feast from the East enough to tantalise the tastebuds of Mandisa and Brendan and grab the cash prize?

Alien Encounters: Fact or Fiction

Genre: Documentary Series

Alien Encounters: Fact or Fiction

Alien Encounters: Fact or Fiction? takes you inside a local watering hole in Roswell, New Mexico, where real people search for answers about their strange, unexplainable encounters with UFOs.

With reports of UAPs (unexplained aerial phenomena) on the rise, UFO experts Mitch Horowitz and Chrissy Newton use scientific data and research to dissect real life encounters with extraterrestrial activity and determine whether or not they can be explained.

Posting up at a local watering hole in Roswell, New Mexico, a town infamous for its UFO past, Horowitz and Newton meet with individuals who have experienced strange and unexplainable encounters.

After listening to each firsthand account, the duo taps into the latest intelligence, technology and tools to investigate the reported activity.

Using recently declassified UFO documents, databases and more, the pair closely analyze the visual and physical evidence to separate fact from fiction.

They'll then render a final verdict on whether each individual experience has a verifiable explanation, or if they believe it to be a real alien encounter.

In the series premiere, "You Saw a UFO": Mitch and Chrissy meet with a farming couple from California who believe they've captured video evidence proving the afterlife is real.

Then, a geologist believes he may have unearthed the most important piece of evidence to ever come from a UFO crash site - leaving even the experts speechless.

Finally, they speak with a mother who is struggling to make sense of a harrowing UFO encounter that she believes caused her neurological damage and left radiation burns on her body.

Additional stories this season include:

A woman seeks to understand her childhood abduction experience, which yields shocking results.

A husband-and-wife bigfoot hunting team believe they have physical proof of an alien presence on Earth.

While miles apart from each other, a couple experience the same UFO encounter.

A Maine lobsterman who had a harrowing experience while camping is finally ready to relive the story.

Two friends who believe they were abducted by an otherworldly force on a drive through the California desert.

A woman traveling to Machu Picchu in Peru captures what might be the most critical photo of a UFO ever taken.

Brothers uncover a piece of metal that they believe came from a crashed UFO.
