Simulcast on S3 and Mzansi Magic, the 16th South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) air live at 19h00, preceded by the Red Carpet coverage at 18h30 (only on S3).
The second season of the Netflix comedy How to Ruin Christmas leads the nominations this year with a total of 16 nods.
The drama category is led by the Showmax drama Dam with 11 noms, followed by the M-Net drama Reyka with eight and the Mzansi Magic hostel drama eHostela and the kykNET drama 4 Mure with seven apiece.
The soapies category is led once again by The River on 1Magic, followed by kykNET's Suidooster and The Wife on Showmax.
The Netflix comedy How to Ruin Christmas: The Funeral tops the comedy nominations with 16, well ahead of the Showmax comedy Tali's Baby Diary with 11 and G.I.L on kykNET with nine.
The 2022 ceremony is once again hosted by Mpho Popps, joined by Ryle De Morny and Khutso Theledi.

In first-hand accounts they reveal private battles and public challenges as they fight to make their voices heard.
We meet 20-year-old Jordan who is trying to overcome his stutter and get his first job.
Later we join 23-year-old Zain as he reflects with his Mum a time when he could barely get any words out.
There's also 24-year-old Namrah, who takes us to University College London where she is part of a study researching the causes of stammering.
Also profiled is 21-year-old Ishaq, who proves anything is possible as he triumphs over his stammer to take on a paediatric placement as part of his medical studies.

In each one-hour episode, Alex simultaneously takes on three talented and brave chefs from across the United States - all experts in the same culinary specialty.
Acclaimed chef Eric Adjepong hosts Alex and the competitors in two rounds of challenges that put their culinary specialty skills to the test as they attempt to defeat Alex for ultimate bragging rights and a cash prize.
Will the competitors prevail at beating Alex in her own arena or will she send all the ambitious chefs home with nothing but their disappointment?
At the start of each battle, Eric presents Alex and the competitors with the culinary theme for their dishes.
In the first round, the competitors can work together to select ingredients and even decide how much time goes on the clock.
Each dish undergoes a blind tasting from two judges well-versed in the episodic theme.
Only the top three chefs advance to the next round, with the least successful challenger sent home, even if it is Alex.
The chef who wins the first round earns the right to select all the variables for the second culinary challenge, with the remaining chefs' final plates determining who comes out on top.
During the season Alex and the formidable competitors are faced with creating masterful dishes from varying culinary disciplines, including French cuisine, dessert, vegetarian, modernist cuisine and more.
In the Season 2 premiere, "Alex vs Italian": Eric welcomes three chefs specialising in Italian cuisine from New York, Florida and New Jersey into the arena.
The chefs strategise which ingredients to choose that will take Chef Alex Guarnaschelli out in round one.
In a competitive round two, judges Evan Funke and Antonia Lofaso will determine if one of these Italian experts have the chops to beat Alex in her own kitchen.

In a valiant act, Sam and Dean's surrogate son Jack (Alexander Calvert) destroyed his soul to redeem his adoptive father.
But this proved to be a fatal error, leading to the accidental death of Mary Winchester.
The 14th season also featured the return of John Winchester (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) for the show's 300th episode.
Now, as their 15th and final season comes to a close, Sam and Dean find themselves facing a threat beyond anything they've ever grappled with ... anything they've ever imagined: God himself.
