Secrets in the Ice

Mysterious frozen lakes filled with bones, mummified bodies hanging from inside a glacier and a 30,000-year-old virus frozen in ice brought back to life in a laboratory.

Experts and scientists are exposing dark secrets, forgotten treasures and lost relics from some of the coldest places on Earth.

Using state-of-the-art archaeological technologies and cutting-edge CGI animation, Secrets in the Ice spotlights the mysteries that have been locked away in icy tombs all over the world for centuries.

At the base of a massive glacier in Southern Greenland, Danish archeologists have discovered the remains of an ancient stone hut.

Was this site the home to a Viking seer practicing black magic?

In Siberia, archeologists have excavated a mummy with fantastical tattoos against the many warnings of locals.

Have they uncovered buried treasure, or unleashed an ancient curse?

From frozen remains of woolly mammoths and human remains on the peaks of Mount Everest, to buried underground military stations and enormous craters hidden beneath glaciers, Secrets in the Ice reveals the mysteries in some of the most daunting, frozen places on Earth.

In the series premiere, "Ancient Ice Zombies": Experts make a chilling new discovery when they unearth a 30,000-year-old zombie virus from an icy grave.

If this ancient disease is successfully resuscitated back to life, it could cause a catastrophic global calamity.

Riverdale 4

The third season of Riverdale began at the end of summer vacation, with Archie's trial for a murder he didn't commit, orchestrated by Hiram Lodge, building to a shattering conclusion.

Archie was sent to juvenile detention, even as a new threat reared its head in Riverdale: The Gargoyle King.

A figure of myth inspired by the role-playing game Gryphons and Gargoyle, the Gargoyle King started claiming sacrificial victims, beginning with Dilton Doiley.

As Betty and Jughead investigated the deadly game's origins (with their parents, 20 years earlier), Veronica worked ceaselessly to get Archie out of juvie, where he was forced to bare-knuckle box for survival.

She finally succeeded in breaking Archie out, but with Hiram still gunning for him, the red-headed hero broke up with Veronica and headed out of town with Jughead, seeking asylum with Jughead's Serpent mom Gladys Jones.

With Archie and Jughead out of the way, Hiram's criminal takeover of Riverdale continued, with his "candy-making" producing a terrifying side-effect in the students of Riverdale High - inexplicable, stress-provoked seizures - which prompted Hiram's wife Hermione to order the town to be quarantined.

When the quarantine was lifted, the threats to Riverdale had multiplied.

The Gargoyle King was still claiming victims; the cult-like Farm Alice Cooper had joined was indoctrinating new members left and right, including Kevin Keller; and Hiram and Gladys found themselves vying for control of the town's drug-trade - with Veronica and her speakeasy, and new beau Reggie Mantle, caught in the middle.

When a haunted and hunted Archie returns to Riverdale, he finds his beloved town on the brink of collapse.

Penelope Blossom has opened a brothel. Cheryl Blossom and her girlfriend Toni Topaz have started a gang to challenge the Southside Serpents - the Pretty Poisons.

No one is safe, not even kingpin Hiram Lodge, who is shot by none other than new Sheriff FP Jones. He survives, barely.

And meanwhile, the mysteries surrounding Gryphons and Gargoyles deepen, drawing in all of the characters, including the enigmatic cult-leader Edgar Evernever and his daughter Evelyn.

Resident chanteuse Josie McCoy leaves town just as the endgame begins: with Veronica and Archie (training to be a boxer) teaming-up to take down Hiram Lodge once and for all, even as Betty exposes the Farm's horrific truths and Jughead zeroes in on the Gargoyle King's true identity.

With one deadly round of Gryphons and Gargoyles left to play, will Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead survive the night and make it to Senior Year?

In the Season 4 premiere, "Chapter Fifty-Eight: In Memoriam": As the residence of Riverdale prepare for its upcoming Independence Day parade, Archie receives a phone call that will change the rest of his life forever.

Mob Wives 2

Channel: eReality (Openview 108)
TX Time: 19h55
Genre: Docu-Reality

Mob Wives 2

Last season, Mob Wives gave an unfiltered look into the closed-door society of Renee, Karen, Carla and Drita, four struggling "allegedly" associated women who have to pick up the pieces and carry on while their husbands or fathers do time for Mob-related activities.

United by a bond which few understand, the women are all struggling with their identities and their futures as they raise their kids as single parents in the New York City area.

The second season picks up where the first left off - with each cast member dealing with major personal life issues.

The rift between Karen and Drita is far from over - will they ever be able to bury the hatchet?

Renee goes under the knife for major plastic surgery that may have some unexpected consequences, while also contemplating her future with her ex-husband Junior.

Drita is considering her options when it comes to leaving her husband Lee - while Carla's relationship with her estranged husband Joe may take an unexpected twist.

And, of course, everyone wants to know what's in Karen's soon-to-be-released book - the one she moved back to New York to write.

In the Season 2 premiere, "New Year, New War": Renee is amped to finally get on the table for her full body makeover, but it suddenly turns into her plastic surgery nightmare.

Drita and Carla are ready to dive into summer fun as newly single ladies and Karen finds a partner in crime in "cousin" Ramona.

Is The Real Housewives of Durban not debuting tonight?

Shows Editor
29 Jan 2021 17:41

We originally had it pegged for a debut on 1Magic, but after the show was moved to Showmax we put our coverage on hold, as we don't cover Showmax.

Are you watching Timone? Feedback please, if so.

30 Jan 2021 18:36

Was gonna watch it on 1Magic, I see MNet is apologising to angry viewers on their FB page about the blunder

It's not a blunder though - they moved it to Showmax deliberately. Here's a link to the story:

The Real Housewives of Durban now coming first and exclusive to Showmax

"The Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) will now launch first and exclusive to Showmax rather than 1Magic on 29 January 2021, with new episodes following every Friday."

30 Jan 2021 21:42

"We know 1Magic viewers were looking forward to this, so the late schedule change was a difficult call to make. We encourage 1Magic viewers who’re not Showmax subscribers yet to sign up to not miss out; there’s a 14-day free trial, subscribers who have DStv Compact get Showmax for R49, and it’s free for Premium viewers.”
Taking viewers for granted much? You need data for Showmax even if it's free on Premium!!!

It's awful Timone! SUCH a low blow!!

So manipulative and disprespectful of DStv viewers who've supported the franchise since the start AND who were already told that they'll be seeing it.

It's insane that MultiChoice undermines DStv like this - they're literally in competition with themselves and their own viewers!

Someone understands! Disrespectful indeed Tashi
