Corné must decide what he stands for and justify his actions.
Hans must face retirement and Anne must decide whether she wants to remain a lawyer.
All the characters – the children included – will learn more about themselves when facing challenges.
As in the first season, there are a number of cases that present a challenge, including Ivan Nel (Armand Aucamp), who is back as a pop star who drives Dolf insane.
Divorces, cases regarding intellectual property, unfair dismissals and abuse are just a few of the problems the lawyers must face.
Two new characters join Van Wyk en Vennote this season: Lilani (Lea Vivier) is a clerk who returns after a year long sabbatical. She has always struggled emotionally and she and Corné have a dark history.
Also, Simon (De Klerk Oelofse) is a new important client.
