Spyskaart is a food show which celebrates South African ingredients with a journey from source to service, from farm to fork, from producer to plate.
In a competition-style show, two chef-presenters - Yolani Abrahams and Kevin Reed - create a two-course menu of delectable dishes.
The show starts with an invitation from a top chef to his or her restaurant.
Yolani and Kevin then each get allocated one of the chef's favourite local ingredients which they have to hero in their dishes.
The two chef-presenters then have a few hours to source these ingredients and prepare their dishes.
At the end of the day, the chef comes to taste and pronounce the winning dish.
In the Season 3 premiere: Chef Darren Badenhorst of Le Coin Francais Restaurant invites Yolani and Kevin to the South African food capital town - Franschhoek in the Boland.
He sets the challenge for the competition by allocating an ingredient and course to each presenter-chef.
But it is not quite as easy as shopping around for the ingredients.
No, Kevin will have to blend his own wine, and Yolani roast her own coffee beans.
Between Kevin and Yolani, who will impress Chef Darren the most and take the win?
He will judge them on the hero of their dish, and if the dish looks and tastes good.
The winner between Yolani and Kevin will see the recipe of their dish feature in the Spyskaart digital cookbook, which will be released at the end of the season.
The weekly chefs that will be featured in Season 3 include Darren Badenhorst of Le Coin Francais Restaurant, Braam Beyers of Chefs Warehouse Tintswalo Atlantic Restaurant, Siba Mtongana of Siba, The Restaurant, Daniela Gutstadt of Culinary Table, Shane Sauvage of La Pentola and Prim Reddy of The Indian Chapter in Bloubergstrand.
