The Contender 5

A revival of the series, hosted by undefeated boxing champion Andre "Son of God" Ward, The Contender features 16 fighters pushing their limits in grueling elimination-style fights and testing their grit and determination to achieve their boxing dreams.

The fighters will be overseen by legendary boxing coach Freddie Roach, and renowned Philadelphia trainer Naazim Richardson.

Each fighter will be vying to be declared the new 160-pound middleweight champion of The Contender and take home the winner's six-figure purse — a prize, which, for all the fighters, represents a better life for their families and loved ones who have been there with them through all the ups and downs of their journeys.

Emasisweni

Channel: SABC1
TX Time: 18h00
Genre: Docu-Reality

Emasisweni

A docu-reality series that captures and narrates the journey of Zinhle Ngidi, a 'virgin' from Soweto in her late 20s on a cultural excursion of self-discovery.

It is a journey filled with the challenges and frustrations of trying to introduce modernised ways into an old cultural practice of virginity testing that is still very much traditional and conservative.

The series also looks at the lengths at which this traditional Zulu girl is willing to go to make what is still seen as an old practice, modern and relevant to her peers.

7 Little Johnstons

Channel: Real Time (DStv 155)
TX Time: 20h00
Genre: Docu-Reality

7 Little Johnstons

In some ways, the Johnstons are an average American family of seven, pursuing the American dream: they live and work in rural Georgia and are transforming a fixer-upper into their dream home all by themselves.

However, this is no ordinary family - they are the largest known family of little people in the world.

All seven Johnstons have Achondroplasia Dwarfism, a genetic condition that affects their size.

Dad, Trent and mom, Amber, have a total of five kids under the age of 16: Jonah and Elizabeth, their biological kids, as well as three adopted children, Anna from Russia, Alex from South Korea and Emma from China.

Juggling the demands of a family of seven while living in your dream home that is being renovated because it's a fixer-upper is anything but easy, but the Johnstons are up for the challenge.

Insomnia

Channel: eExtra (Openview 105 / DStv 195 / StarSat 489)

All contestants have been injected with a poison, if they fall asleep, they die. The winner gets the antidote and a new life.

Bets have been placed - the game has begun. The tagline is "Stay Awake. Stay Alive. Win the Game."

In the series premiere, "The Big Bang": Fragile alliances are quickly formed despite the deadly game rules; a wealthy widow learns about the game; players scramble for weapons and cover on the streets of Moscow.
