Ayanda Makayi is a South African actor best known for his starring role as Sol, a spoilt 20-something who is Tsholo's possessive boyfriend, in the fifth season of the television drama series MTV Shuga.
Ayanda was born and raised in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, matriculating from Queen's College in 2010 before moving to Johannesburg, where he obtained a BA Honours in Live Performance from AFDA.
He first appeared on television in the SABC1 drama series Mfolozi Street in 2014 and soon landed a string of guest and recurring roles on shows such as Roer Jou Voete, High Rollers and Ashes to Ashes.
In 2017 he landed his first starring role in MTV Shuga, followed by his second starring role when he replaced Given Stuurman in the role of Boysie on the second season of the Mzansi Magic supernatural drama series Igazi.
He can be seen in a variety of television commercials, including Vodacom and Toyota. He has also acted in films like Nyaope Boys, Ben9, That Golden Moment, The Journey is the Destination, Bush Pilot, Against the Wild 2: Survive the Serengeti and Skorokoro.
