Makoti is a South African comedy-drama television series inspired by the blog "Missteps of a Young Wife" by Mike Maphoto and Thozama Mqikela that explores modern day relationships by following four couples at different stages of their relationship or marriage.
The series also explores some of the key elements that make or break relationships based on the four stages of marriage: honeymoon, conflict, bargaining and mature love.
The couples are also tied together by factors like work, family and friendships, creating a perfect recipe for conflict, drama and of some tender loving.
The series stars Thulisile Phongolo as Lilitha, Micaela Tucker as Jessica, Ayanda Makayi as DJ Mo, Millicent Makhado as Zandile, Andile Gumbi as Siyabonga, Tina Jaxa as Noma, Kennedy Stab as Ta Lloyd, Makhosazana Ndlovu as Judith, Mike Mvelase as Lawrence and Siphesihle Vazi as Mthoko.
Other actors appearing in the series include Themba Nofemele, Craig Urbani, Zizi Peteni and Cindy Mahlangu.
