Die Kantoor

Channel: kykNET (DStv 144)
TX Time: 20h00
Genre: Mockumentary, Comedy, Afrikaans

Die Kantoor

An Afrikaans-language adaptation of the BBC series The Office, which is a fly-on-the-wall docureality parody about modern South African office life.

Filmed primarily in Afrikaans with English subtitles, the series depicts the everyday lives of office employees at Deluxe Processed Meats, a company which specialises in polony.

The staff are looked down upon by their head office, who specialise in prime cuts, and no one feels safe in their positions, as a BBBEE business consortium recently bought a large part of the company.

Die Kantoor is shot in a single-camera setup, without a studio audience or a laugh track, and is made in the form of a documentary.

Although fictional and scripted, the presence of the camera is openly acknowledged by the series' characters.

The cast includes Albert Pretorius, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Lida Botha, Carl Beukes, Ilse Oppelt, Daniah de Villiers, Mehboob Bawa, Sipumziwe Lucwaba, and Gert du Plessis.

In the series premiere: After hiring Emma, Flip hears about a client's complaint and makes a promise he can't keep to make her happy.

Die Kantoor is a Showmax Original produced by Rapid Blue. Bennie Fourie is the head writer and director.

Whichever pair is left holding the latter case at the end of each episode faces an early exit.

Tensions build across the series as the teams play compelling challenges to try to uncover who has which case...

In the series premiere, "Check In is Now Open": Teams of paired guests, including a mum and son team, business partners, a husband and wife partnership and a duo of best friends arrive at a luxury Caribbean resort to play a thrilling high-stakes game of cat and mouse.

Some swallow with brute force and others with patience, precision or trickery.

But all share one goal: get it down fast.

From desert wastelands to soggy swamps, burrowers display bizarre and ingenious solutions to survive underground.

Below Deck Down Under 3

Below Deck Down Under is back with an epic new season, featuring the return of Capt. Jason, Chef Tzarina and Deckhand Harry.

This season the crew sets sail to a stunning first-ever series destination - the pristine turquoise waters of the Seychelles off the coast of Africa.

Jason is at the forefront of Motor Yacht Katina, the franchise's largest vessel yet.

With clashing department heads and hard-to-entertain guests, he must explore new depths to face this season's challenges.

Now in the galley of her dreams with a sous chef by her side, Chef Tzarina is ready to explore the vibrant flavours of East Africa.

However, a weevil infestation and rising tension with her sous chef threaten to turn her kitchen into chaos.

New Chief Stew Lara excels at keeping her department in tip-top shape, going to great lengths to make sure her guests have a spotless experience - even if it means scaling four flights of stairs for every service.

Amid a series of on-deck blunders leading to a jet ski accident that ends in a hospital visit, Bosun Wihan faces an uphill battle to keep team morale afloat.

The interior runs like a well-oiled machine until one stew's request for more responsibility rocks the boat.

An explosive incident that leads to a shocking firing leaves the crew shorthanded while fresh faces bring a wave of new energy on board.

The "love boat" atmosphere boils over as flings, hook-up crossovers and budding relationships begin to spill over into the workplace flow.

In the Season 3 premiere, "Seychelles, By the Seashore": Capt. Jason embarks across the dazzling waters of the Seychelles with almost an entirely new crew on the larger-than-life motor yacht Katina.

The enormity of the boat puts new Chief Stew Lara and her interior team to the test.

Chef Tzarina and Lara are reunited after a previous working relationship and tensions quickly surface as their clashing styles ignite old frustrations.

Tzarina faces an infestation of weevils in the galley while she tries to find her stride with her new sous chef, Anthony.

Groen: Namibië 6

Channel: kykNET (DStv 144)
TX Time: 20h30
Genre: Wildlife, Reality

Groen: Namibiƫ 6

In Namibia, about 42km east of Windhoek, Marlice van Vuuren and her husband, Dr Rudie van Vuuren, continue tirelessly with a dedicated team to make life easier for wild animals that cannot care for themselves.

Marlice grew up on the farm Harnas in eastern Namibia – a safe haven for animals in distress, similar to the rehabilitation sanctuary N/a'an ku sê where she and her husband are now involved.

Marlice's mother, Marieta van der Merwe, rescued a monkey from almost certain death in 1978, sparking the flame that would eventually lead Marieta and her husband, Nick, to establish the cattle farm Harnas as a world-renowned sanctuary for injured animals.

It is a deeply rooted labour of love to care for and rehabilitate animals in need with the aim of releasing them back into the wild.

Not all recover sufficiently to be released, and they remain residents of N/a'an ku sê.

The reasons for these "wild" residents' new living arrangements vary.

Sometimes they are orphaned after their parents are killed or injured.

Among the permanent residents is Lucky, the three-legged leopard, who lost a limb after stepping into a gin trap.

Marlice and Rudie focus not only on exotic wildlife – even mischievous meerkats and baboons find a safe haven here.

Besides the animal hospital, there are also research facilities at N/a'an ku sê that are invaluable for the survival of Namibia's rich wildlife.

Follow every situation Marlice and Rudie encounter – from the struggle to relocate rhinos and rescue elephants to wrestling with hippos to persuade them to change location.

There are thrilling situations and moving scenes, but nature also always provides a good dash of humour, so there are often lighter moments too.

Celebrity Masterchef South Africa 2

Celebrity MasterChef South Africa is a South African competitive cooking reality show spin-off from MasterChef South Africa, in which celebrities who have no experience in the food industry attempt to turn into a MasterChef and win money for their charity.

The contestants are the ones feeling the pressure and breaking a sweat, and this time round the names and faces that greet us are more than a little familiar.

Celebrity MasterChef South Africa brings with it some big names from the entertainment industry.

As glamorous and exciting as the culinary world may appear, it is exemplified by gritty demands and high-pressure challenges.

The reason people pursue this obstacle-strewn path is their passion for food and creativity, and without it you will not survive.

The contestants have thus always been people who are driven and committed to making their dream work, but because the celebrity season comes with a batch of contestants who are pursuing dreams of other sorts, their mission it to make the lives of others a little brighter.

Instead of playing for themselves, each celebrity has picked a charity to represent and winning challenges consists of collecting cash prizes for their respective organisations, raising funds and awareness for a variety of noble causes.

This season, Mzansi cuisine-crazy personalities who can all cook up a storm will face the heat in the MasterChef kitchen.

While judges Justine Drake, Zola Nene and Katlego Mlambo will again scrutinise all the celebrities' culinary creations, the spin-off will be served with new format twists.

The Celebrity MasterChef champion will share the R1-million prize pot with a charity of their choice.

Furthermore, the 12 high-flyers will be divided into groups of three to put their hearts on their plates in the series' first four episodes.

The winner of each of these "heats" will then proceed to the semifinal, whereafter two will face off in the finale.

Besides each episode's do-or-die elimination cook-off, there will also be an appetiser task where the best dish will be attached to a surprise prize for the charity the celeb represents.

The 12 celebrities who will prepare scrumptious meals and memorable moments are:

Holly Rey (singer-songwriter)
Armand Aucamp (actor)
Graeme Richards (presenter)
Sinoyolo Sifo (influencer)
Prim Reddy (TV personality)
Ayanda Thabethe (Miss SA runner-up 2022)
Seth Shezi (fashionista)
Reneilwe Letsholonyane (retired soccer star)
Bohang Moeko (actor)
