Dating #NoFilter

A local adaptation of the comedy dating series Dating #NoFilter, featuring commentary from some of South Africa's funniest personalities, as they watch singles navigate the unpredictable world of blind dating.

The premise of the show is that dating is not the fantasy that TV makes it out to be. Instead, it's an absolute awful show of X-rated pics, ghosting and one night stands.

This is a fresh take on the modern dating scene for the socially savvy, right-swiping generation.

In each episode, three pairs of comedians deliver play-by-play commentary as they watch real singles navigate first dates, or at least try to date.

Throughout the blind dates, the comedians will offer their candid and unique POVs as they weigh in on every accidental love story pulling at viewers' heart strings and the "OMG-no!" cringe-worthy moments with real, unfiltered commentary.

The local version brings together a cast of 16 commentators led by comedian, TV personality and actor Jason Goliath.

Commentators joining Goliath include actress and radio personality Hope Mbhele, media personality and content creator Lebogang Tlokana – also known as The Funny Chef, rapper and songwriter Cassper Nyovest, and actress Jo-anne Reyneke.

Born Evil: The Serial Killer and the Savior

Channel: Investigation Discovery (DStv 171 / StarSat 223)
TX Time: 21h00
Genre: True Crime, Documentary Series

Born Evil: The Serial Killer and the Savior

Director Michael Bay (Transformers, Armageddon) makes his documentary debut.

This five-part series delves into the disturbing case of Hadden Clark, a lesser-known serial killer whose crimes may be linked to numerous unsolved cases.

Bay himself conducted exclusive prison interviews with Clark, offering viewers unprecedented access to the killer's psyche and shocking confessions.

Born Evil explores Clark's dysfunctional family history, his descent into depravity, and the shocking revelations he shared with his cellmate, whom he believed to be Jesus.

Featuring explosive interviews with Clark's brother, Geoff, and former cellmate, Jack Truitt, the series unveils a terrifying portrait of a killer hiding in plain sight.

The docuseries offers insight into Clark's traumatic childhood, a violent family history, and unpacks the many unsolved cold cases linked to his prison confessions.

Explosive interviews with key individuals are also layered throughout, with Hadden's brother Geoff Clark going on the record and then, most jarring, the recipient of Clark's confessions, his former cellmate Jack Truitt whom Clark believed to be 'Jesus' and his personal saviour.

Featuring additional, unprecedented access to Clark's personal journals and illustrations outlining his crimes, Born Evil also offers a road map to the litany of unsolved cases Clark allegedly left in his wake.

Through interviews with law enforcement and loved ones of the victims, the docuseries sheds insight into the investigation, and into the lingering impact of Clark's crimes and the tragic repercussions of a serial killer who flew under the radar for too long.

Florida Untamed: Where Reptiles Rule

Channel: Nat Geo Wild (DStv 182 / StarSat 221)
TX Time: 18h00
Genre: Wildlife, Documentary Series

Florida Untamed: Where Reptiles Rule

Beyond the idyllic beaches and theme parks, wildlife thrives in swamps and shorelines where alligators, bullfrogs and poisonous snakes fight for survival.

The Florida swamps are not only a stunning landscape of beauty, mystery and drama; they are the home of the lizard king.

The American Alligator rules this primeval habitat among the ancient cypress trees and Spanish moss.

But newborn alligator hatchlings face harsh odds and only one in 10 will survive.

They must outlast and outwit numerous deadly predators to survive across the seasons.

Venomous snakes and cannibal alligators are lurking at every turn.

Largemouth bass and rotund bullfrogs are just a few of the unexpected predators that will gobble up a baby alligator.

The coral islands, lush mangroves and sandy beaches of the Florida coastline may seem idyllic.

But for its wild inhabitants coping with continued development and human encroachment, plus a host of natural predators, the edge of the sea is a paradise filled with peril.

Bordered between seashore and suburbia, legions of Loggerhead turtle hatchlings begin their epic journey from sandy shores to the depths of the open ocean.

If they are to return to their natal beaches as adults, they must survive a gauntlet of predators including sharks and invasive lionfish stalking the reefs.

The American crocodile patrols the brackish waters, always looking for an ambush to satisfy his appetite.

But in this difficult hunting season, the croc will struggle to find food.

Life on Florida's deadly coast is no day at the beach.

Viola

Channel: eExtra (Openview 105 / StarSat 489 / DStv 195)
TX Time: 19h30
Genre: Drama

Violet Like the Sea

Viola Vitale, a gorgeous and magnetic woman who has always worked in the field of fashion journalism, moves from Paris back to Palermo, armed only with optimism and trust, to search for the father she never knew.

There, she starts working for an online publisher, covering the crime beat, collaborating with Inspector Francesco Demir.

He's charismatic and seductive, with top investigative talent, but little faith in humanity - in that, the polar opposite of Viola.

Highly intuitive on the job, Demir is also impulsive and given to bending the rules.

The pair work side-by-side on homicide cases, she as a reporter, he as a cop.

Hugely difficult at first, given the clash of opposites, in time they learn to collaborate successfully.

This is in part because Viola can count on her special gift: synesthesia.

Synesthesia is not merely a figure of speech, but also the actual spontaneous and uncontrollable blending of multiple senses, sight and hearing, for example.

In Viola's case, she associates emotions with colours.

When she looks at a person, she sees a colour they give off, allowing her to read their deepest, possibly hidden, feelings: fear, joy, pain...

Viola develops the ability to grasp the true mindsets of people she encounters.

Behind her synesthesia, however, she guards a bigger secret, to do with her real reason for returning to Palermo.

Hi Themba$ Thanks for the heads-up on this.

It was originally scheduled to start on 15 September and we featured it then - didn't realise that it had moved.
We've added an update to the article above with details on it - at the end.

We're investigating to see if there are teasers for it and will publish if there are.
