The Silicon Valley Revolution - How a Bunch of Nerds Changed our Lives

Today, Silicon Valley is home to the headquarters of multi-billion dollar IT enterprises.

The beginnings were amateurish essays in colour, chaos and revolutionary stirrings.

Hippies, DIY fans and clever businessmen had set into motion an unbelievable revolution.

The pioneers of the home computer wanted nothing less than to change the world and push "Big Brother" off his throne: they wanted computers for everyone.

This documentary chronicles the beginnings of the home computer in exclusive interviews with the pioneers of the PC revolution.

From Hippies to the first PC

The pioneers of the PC revolution tell the story of the beginnings of the personal computer.

They are the visionaries and masterminds who, unlike Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, never made the big bucks but whose ideals and dreams built the foundations of the interconnected world we know today, the origins of which lie back in the Hippie and peace movement of the 1970s.

From the first Computer Trade Fair to the WWW

After the wild beginnings of the movement in the 1970s political ideas soon became big business.

Imboni Yama Tekisi

The taxi world is a multi-billion-rand industry and one of the most dangerous fields to work in – but it is also shrouded in secrecy.

This reality show lifts the curtain on the lives of taxi bosses, starring four taxi owners giving unprecedented access into their lives and what it takes to thrive in this industry.

Set in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and Mpumalanga, Imboni Yama Tekisi gives us a front row seat into the lives of some of the bosses who run the taxi industry in South Africa.

The show explores how they conduct business, their family dynamics and how they stay safe while running their empires.

At the heart of the show is Nthabiseng Keroane, widowed taxi boss and entrepreneur.

Bubbly, larger than life and a socialite, she also enjoys a 90,000+ following on TikTok.

Hers is a story of a woman who took over the family business following her husband's death.

It hasn't been easy, not only due to it being a male-dominated industry, but also because she was never involved in the business while her husband was alive, so she's had to learn everything from scratch after his death.

Then there are the Biyela twin brothers, Lindokuhle and Zakhele, who have more than 20 children between them and are navigating several co-parenting relationships.

Having fled for their own safety from Empangeni, we will see them handling the taxi business despite the absence of their third business partner, their brother.

Rounding things off is Sabelo Ndaba, who has survived multiple attempts on his life, one of which left him in a wheelchair.

A farm owner with dozens of cows, the Mpumalanga-based boss is also juggling his polygamous lifestyle, while trying to deal with the mother of his child, who is limiting access to the little one.

From navigating tricky family relationships to running their businesses, Imboni Yama Tekisi is the taxi industry like you've never seen it before.

Killing Eve 1-4

Channel: Netflix South Africa
TX Time: 10h00 (all episodes)
Genre: Comedy-Drama, Thriller

Killing Eve 1-4

Based on the novels by Luke Jennings and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Killing Eve centers on two distinctly different women.

Eve (Sandra Oh) is a bored, whip-smart MI5 security officer whose desk-bound job doesn't fulfil her fantasies of being a spy.

Villanelle (Jodie Comer) is a mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her.

Killing Eve topples the typical spy-action thriller as these two fiercely intelligent women, equally obsessed with each other, go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.

In the series premiere, "Nice Face": Eve is a security officer at MI5. She likes her job, her boss, her friends and her husband, but she is bored.

When a Russian diplomat is assassinated in Vienna and Eve is given the job of looking after the witness, a casual bet about the identity of the killer gets out of hand, and Eve finds herself drawn into a cat-and-mouse game all across the continent, looking for a deadly, elusive and fascinating suspect, Villanelle.
