Candy Land

This show brings out the childhood imagination of five teams made up of professional cake and sugar artists on Candy Land, inspired by the classic Hasbro children's game.

Through six episodes, Kristin Chenoweth hosts and guides the teams through the fantastical world of Candy Land, challenging them to create heavenly confectionary showpieces, all the while being thrown curveballs every step of the way by Lord Licorice that puts the teams' skills to the ultimate test.

Each episode features the teams stepping into one of the eye-popping lands come to life, including giant candy canes in the Peppermint Forest, life-size gumdrops at the Gumdrop Mountains, a real life gingerbread house at Chocolate Mountain, enormous and luscious lollipops in the Lollipop Woods, and lemons growing right off the vines in the Lemon Lime Springs.

The players must forage for flavours and unique ingredients within each land to use for their sugar masterpieces before presenting to judges Nacho Aguirre and Aarti Sequeira, who determine which teams advance down the board game path based on creativity, technical execution, and how well the candies of the land were incorporated.

The first team to make it to King Kandy's Castle wins the game and earns the grand prize of $25,000.

In the series premiere, "Candy Creatures": Kristin welcomes the players to Candy Land before presenting the teams with their first challenge to create mystical and magical creatures the likes of which have never been seen before.

Each team must present their work of art to the judges to see which team's time in Candy Land has come to an end.

Other episodes feature the teams designing inventive and edible means of transportation for the citizens of Candy Land, creating beautiful upgrades for the town squares within each land; and a final challenge with the last teams standing thinking outside the box to deliver a one-of-a-kind gift that will need to impress King Kandy.

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries 2 Christmas Special

Channel: BBC Brit (DStv 120)
TX Time: 20h00
Genre: Drama, Period Drama, Police Procedural

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries 2 Christmas Special

In 1964, the gorgeously reckless Peregrine Fisher is rocketed from a lonely, dissatisfying small-town life into a career as a fearless investigator, supported by a coterie of remarkable women who help her follow in the footsteps of her famous Aunt Phryne.

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is based on the novels of Australian author Kerry Greenwood.

The lady sleuth sashays through the back lanes and jazz clubs of late 1920s Melbourne, fighting injustice with her pearl handled pistol and her dagger sharp wit.

Leaving a trail of admirers in her wake, the thoroughly modern heroine makes sure she enjoys every moment of her lucky life.

This lush take on the traditional crime drama explores the fascinating and varied sub cultures of 1920s 'between-the-wars' Melbourne.

From the shadowy lanes of the city to the halls of academia, from high-class brothels to haute couture, she defends the innocent and juggles admirers with her usual panache, all the while keeping up her delicious dance around Detective Inspector Jack Robinson.

In this Christmas Special, "Murder Under the Mistletoe": Phryne, Dot and Dr Mac happily accompany Aunt Prudence to a picturesque chalet to celebrate a white Christmas in July.

The party arrives to find one of the residents dead – electrocuted while hanging festive lights.

No more suspicious than the usual Miss Fisher investigation, until the body count starts to rapidly rise.

Heavy snowfalls and harsh weather trap them all with a murderer in their midst – and any one of them the next victim.

It's a race against time for Phryne and Jack to hunt down the culprit – and restore enough Christmas joy to take full advantage should they find themselves standing under that bunch of mistletoe.

Escape to the Chateau 9

Final season!

Escape to the Chateau is a renovation show - a heartwarming series full of joy, creativity and ingenuity, all set in the glorious surroundings of a fairytale castle.

Fronted by hosts Dick and Angel Strawbridge, it is the perfect chance to escape into their charming world.

Dick and Angel return in a new season with more DIY, renovation, craft and family adventures on the grandest or scales.

As ever, the Chateau continues to share its secrets with some incredible new discoveries adding to the rich history of the Strawbridge's fairytale home.

With weddings and events on hold for the second year, Dick and Angel bite the bullet and make the big decision to tackle the exterior of the Chateau.

The roof and outside walls are their biggest project to date and the Chateau quickly becomes a building site.

In the Season 9 premiere, "Atelier de Mariage": The Strawbridges return to the screen this autumn for more heart-warming family adventures, innovative renovations and spectacular celebrations in their ninth and final season.

But before the celebrations can begin there are some pretty sizable jobs to finish.

To streamline operations, Angel plans to turn part of the sous-sol, once The Chateau's cider store, into the Atelier de Marriage aka The Wedding Workshop, where everything ‘wedding' will be stored, organised and created.

To help bring this back to life, Dick and Angel go on the hunt - repurposing an original cider barrel which once lived in the store and turning an old garden trellis into a Flower Storage Chandelier to assist when making the stunning bouquets, buttonholes and wedding flowers.

Amongst the organising and entertaining, The Chateau continues to share its secrets.

A neglected corner of Dick's beloved Walled Garden reveals a folly-like room hidden by ivy, ripe for transforming into something elegant.

The folly soon finds its place, becoming not only an enchanting wildlife observatory for the family but also the focal point for family entertaining.

Meanwhile, to ensure all essential jobs are finished before their friends and family visit in December, the 'extension' Angel has joked about for years takes shape in the form of a winter garden on stilts and Dick falls in love with another of The Chateau's 'big jobs'.

In addition, the replacement of the 62 windows is finally underway and the last remaining part of the attic is turned into a family games room designed to take Arthur and Dorothy from their tweens to their teens.

As the year comes to a close, the family reminisce about the last seven years since they moved to France.

They look back at their home which had no electricity, water or sewage, and no way of paying for itself and reflect on their journey that many have been a part of.

They want to thank all those who have helped them along the way and what better way than with a party - a Christmas extravaganza.

Dick, Angel, Arthur and Dorothy end the 'year of celebrations' on a high, surrounded by their family and friends and, most probably, fireworks.

Chopped 20

In this cooking competition it's all about skill, speed and ingenuity as four aspiring chefs compete before a panel of three expert judges.

Course by course, the chefs must take a basket of mystery ingredients, with a different theme each time, and turn it into an extraordinary meal.

Then, they must survive the Chopping Block, where the judges are waiting to be wowed - and they are not shy about voicing their culinary criticisms.

In the Season 20 premiere, "Dread and Breakfast": The usual rounds are replaced today by breakfast, lunch and dinner.

In round one, the chefs attempt to make a glorious morning meal from coffee cake and cream-filled chocolate eggs.

Then in the second round, three young, very energetic chefs race to create delicious fish dishes for lunch.

But one competitor's recklessness leads to an emergency situation.

And the judges are excited to see what the two finalists can do with a divine dinner basket.
