Miss World South Africa

Miss World South Africa is a new, local pageant to find a candidate to compete in the international Miss World pageant.

Miss South Africa or her runners-up used to compete in Miss World previously, up until 2021, but the Miss South Africa Organisation lost the licence rights to Carol Bouwer Productions who now own the rights.

The pageant takes place at the State Theatre in Pretoria and airs live, hosted by Minnie Dlamini.

The event will kick off with the red carpet at 18h00, leading up to the main broadcast. The host of the red carpet is Lunga Shabalala.

After hundreds of eligible beauty contestants from across all nine provinces participated in pre-qualification rounds during the past few months, 12 hopefuls were selected to compete for the Miss World South Africa final, the stepping stone to participate and win the title of Miss World in India on 9 December, 2023.

The top 12 contestants participated in a series of rigorous competitions, including talent showcases, sports challenges, and charitable initiatives all aimed at highlighting the qualities that make them exceptional ambassadors of change ahead of the national final competition and beyond.

Miss World South Africa will join contestants from over 130 countries in India to showcase her unique talents, intelligence, and compassion in the 71st Miss World edition.

The panel of judges consists of Realeboga Malatji, Rolene Strauss, Daniel Asiwe, Dato Tiffanee Marie Lim, Norman Cahi, Ava Hall and Sithembile Ntombela.

There will be performances by jazz musician Jimmy Dludlu, Unathi Nkayi, Nobantu "Noba" Msweli and Felo Le Tee.

The contestants will also pledge their national pride and perform a dance ensemble dedicated to the Springboks as they take on New Zealand in the finals.
