Bravery, ingenuity and power take centre stage as plantation slaves band together in the fight of their lives – for their families, their future and most importantly... their freedom.
In 1857, a courageous man named Noah organises a small team of fellow slaves on the Macon plantation and puts together a plan to escape and head 600 dangerous miles North, to freedom.
The odds of success are slim and for those who make it off the plantation, the risks and uncertainties of life on the run multiply.
The sacrifices are immense as they leave family behind to pay for their bold escape.
They're aided along the way by an abolitionist couple in Ohio, new to running a station on the Underground and unprepared for the havoc it will wreak on their personal lives, all the while being pursued by a ruthless mercenary catcher hell-bent on bringing them back, dead or alive.
In the series premiere, The Macon 7: In 1857, as a group of slaves are planning to escape from his plantation, Tom Macon (Reed Diamond) looks to enlist his abolitionist lawyer brother (Marc Blucas) to manage his campaign to be Georgia's next US senator.

On the multigenerational Ofuze, we will see that while Mr. and Mrs. Ngcobo have carved out a path for themselves, it hasn't been a bed of roses for their four children, especially since their loving parents rule with an iron fist.
'Nepo babies' might be the hot topic in Hollywood, but to say it's been an easy path for the younger Ngcobo generation couldn't be further from the truth.
First up there is Nathi Ngcobo, the opinionated first-born son who is a father of four.
Keen to carve out his own path outside of the family business, we follow as he tries to run his family his own way.
The first-born daughter is actress and TV host Ntombi Mzolo, whose role in the family is that of mediator.
A mother and wife, she has been battling her own demons since the loss of two of her children.
Will she be able to catch the inner light she's been chasing?
Third-born Jabu is a father who has his own commitment issues – much to the horror of his traditional parents.
He wants to move out of home but refuses to get married, which is the condition placed on all Ngcobo children if they want to have their own space.
Then there is the last born, Vusiwe, whose megawatt smile hides a secret she's been keeping from almost everyone in the family.
In a long-term relationship with her partner, will he finally pop the question and therefore free her from the warm clutches of her parents – and will her double life catch up with her?
Ofuze is about a tightknit family navigating their own unique challenges of life under the spotlight.
Will the Ngcobo parents loosen their grip on their kin, or is freedom a dream the younger generation will continue to fight for?
Can their love overcome all challenges, or will personal dreams threaten the family legacy?

The 10 farmers were introduced on kykNET's website and as the season gets underway the entire process is laid out and the audience is invited to participate on the show's website.
The show once again travelled across the country to find 10 free-spirited, lovelorn farmers, and to find out what it is they are looking for in a partner.
Now, Marciel is ready to help the Top 5 farmers (the five who received the most letters) to try and find the love of their lives, which is not unlikely - the series has already led to many weddings (and children!).

Litvinenko tells the story of Alexander Litvinenko, the former Russian Federal Security Services and KGB officer whose death, from polonium poisoning in November 2006, triggered one of the most complex and dangerous investigations in the history of the Metropolitan Police.
This is the story of the determined Scotland Yard officers who worked for 10 years to prove who was responsible.
It also focuses upon the story of Marina, played by Margarita Levieva (The Blacklist), Alexander's fearless, dignified widow who fought tirelessly to persuade the British Government to publicly name her husband's killers and acknowledge the role of the Russian State in his murder.
The drama will relate how in November 2006 two police officers were called to University College Hospital in London to interview a patient in declining health.
The patient was Alexander Litvinenko, a Russian dissident who claimed to have been poisoned on the direct orders of Vladimir Putin.
During the police interviews, Alexander provided meticulous details from his hospital bedside about the events leading up to his illness.
His information would ultimately help detectives track down two Russians who had poisoned Litvinenko with Polonium 210, a highly toxic radioactive substance.
The iconic photograph taken of Litvinenko at his bedside generated international headlines, and after he was pronounced dead on November 23, Scotland Yard launched its murder investigation.
