TX Time: 21h00
Genre: Reality Makeover

Dragnificent!

Features some of America's most beloved drag queens as they flip the switch and sprinkle their glitz on people who desperately wish for a mega-makeover as part of an upcoming life milestone.

The series will take you on a loud, outrageous and heartwarming ride as the queens help each person reveal the best version of themselves - inside and out.

At the heart of Dragnificent! are makeovers that tug on the heartstrings, with a team of experts who tackle their challenges by drawing on their individual expertise and overall fabulousness.

Alexis Michelle is a makeup artist, specialising in weddings and special events; BeBe is an experienced event planner who can transform any room into a fantasy space; Jujubee, a fashion expert known for her dynamic and iconic looks, draws on her deep knowledge in drag couture and women's fashion; and Thorgy Thor is a classically trained musician who knows how to get the party started.

In each episode, the cast will help someone reimagine their appearance for a special day and reveal themselves as they have only dreamed, while taking viewers on a touching journey of their life and struggles to this point.

Whether it be a bride who wants to feel beautiful walking down the aisle, an alumna who wants to strut her stuff at an upcoming high school reunion, or a woman coming to terms with her new body after losing a massive amount of weight, there is nothing our queens can't tackle.

No matter how big the event or transformation, the fairy godmothers are just the team needed to give these people the confidence, courage and grace they need to be their best at the biggest moments of their lives.

Meat: A Threat to Our Planet?

Channel: BBC Earth (DStv 184)
TX Time: 19h00
Genre: Documentary, Food

Meat: A Threat to Our Planet?

Following on from 2018's award-winning Drowning In Plastic, science and wildlife presenter Liz Bonnin is travelling around the world to investigate the impact that our hunger for meat is having on our planet's environment.

Reports from the IPCC and the FAO revealed that the global livestock industry is responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than the running of all the world's transport combined - and it's polluting our air, land and water.

So just how bad is the problem, and what can we do about it?

Liz travels from Texan megafarms, where 50,000 cows belch out vast amounts of planet-warming methane, to giant pig farms producing colossal quantities of polluting manure.

In the Amazon rainforest she discovers how beef farming is a leading cause of deforestation, and comes face to face with a baby harpy eagle - a species rapidly losing its habitat as cattle farmers cut down the forest.

Feeding our planet's livestock is also leading to huge biodiversity loss and, in South Africa, Liz discovers how this is affecting life in our oceans, helping to drive the African penguin towards extinction.

Liz also meets the scientists and entrepreneurs urgently looking for solutions.

At a university in California, Liz puts her hand directly into the stomach of a cow - all in the name of reducing methane emissions.

In North Carolina she meets an entrepreneur who's using his manure to power local homes.

And in San Francisco, she becomes one of the first people in the world to try a lab-made chicken nugget - a product that might reduce the environmental damage caused by meat production.

Liz finishes her journey on a small farm in Wales, where she meets a family who have shifted their relationship with meat by taking the bold step of slaughtering their own animals.

At the end of her journey, Liz starts to assess her own attitude to meat, and questions what we can all do to save our fragile planet.

What the Shark?

Channel: Nat Geo Wild (DStv 182 / StarSat 221)
TX Time: 18h00
Genre: Documentary, Wildlife

What the Shark?

This film is a deep dive - from the sunny beach to the 8,000-foot abyss, where extreme adaptation is critical to survival.

For sharks in this dark void, pressure - or a lack of it - could blow flesh to pieces, and inky darkness could mean never finding prey.

But these weirdsters have their act together. They're a ghostly cast of living monsters that defy the convention of life on Earth as we know it.
