2019 SATMA Awards

The South African Traditional Music Achievement (SATMA) Awards are a platform to celebrate and honour traditional music.

The aim is to preserve and advance South Africa's colourful and vibrant cultural heritage by showcasing and celebrating traditional music genres with an annual event that recognises and honours South Africa's best traditional music talent.

Since 2005, the SATMAs have brought all races and ethnic groups together through the celebration of Mzansi's diverse music that transcends tribal, racial and geographic lines.

The SATMAs slogan - "My Culture Your Culture, One Nation" - is SATMAs call for unity amongst South African ethnic and racial groups as well as Africans in the diaspora through traditional music.

This two-hour special explores the origin, impact and lasting effects of the state-sponsored drug use that helped build — and eventually burned — the Third Reich.

The documentary brings new sources of information, including a detailed journal maintained by Hitler's personal physician, reveal the extent of not just his, but the entire Nazi Party's reliance on drugs to power their war effort.

2019 MTV Europe Music Awards

Singer, songwriter and actress Becky G will host and perform at the 2019 MTV EMAs, airing live globally from FIBES Conference & Exhibition Centre in Seville, Spain.

The 2019 MTV EMA nominees were announced last week with six top acts from the African continent.

South African rapper Nasty C and hit maker Prince Kaybee were nominated for the Best African Act category alongside Nigeria's hit makers Burna Boy & Teni, Togo's duo Toofan and Tanzanian musician Harmonize.

Internationally, Ariana Grande leads with seven nods. Her nominations include Best Artist, Best Video for her viral hit "thank you, next," as well as Best Song alongside Shawn Mendes and EMA nominee newcomers Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish, who all follow Grande with six nods each.

Latin American sensation J Balvin follows closely with five nominations including Best Artist, and Lizzo and Taylor Swift join the above contenders for Best U.S. Act, scoring four nods each.

Performers include Ava Max, Green Day, Niall Horan, Halsey, Dua Lipa and Liam Gallagher.

What makes a serial killer? This  series takes an in-depth look at notorious murderers from around the world.

Each episode is an in-depth look at the childhood, and formative years of serial killers in an attempt to find out whether the individuals were born killers, or created by the environments they found themselves in.

Featured in the first season are Fred West, "Doctor Death" Harold Shipman, cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer, Moors murderer Myra Hindley, the Washington snipers John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo, and Australian backpacker serial killer Ivan Milat.
