Season 4
The River is a South African telenovela revolving around communities on two different sides of a river: society's upper crust in exquisite mansions who will go to any lengths to maintain their wealth, and the exploited "common folk" who constantly toil with little to show for it.
Sseason 4 comes with a twist: lead actress Sindi Dlathu's character, Lindiwe Dikana, will return with unlikely rivals that promises to take viewers on an emotional rollercoaster.
With Season 3 ending with an unexpected death amid a ring of lies, love and betrayal, this season there is a never-seen before side of Lindiwe as the CEO of Khanyisa Diamonds tries to keep it together when two people become central to an investigation that might bring her mining empire to extinction.
In the Season 4 premiere: Mabutho has everyone freaked out as he refuses to accept reality, while Lindiwe seems to be going through her own ordeal.
The River is an M-Net Original Production created and executive produced by Gwydion Beynon and Phathutshedzo Makwarela, for Tshedza Pictures. The duo are also the head writers.
Sindi Dlathu is a co-producer this season.
Music is by Brendan Jury.
