Trainwreck: Poop Cruise

An engine fire leaves 4,000 passengers stranded at sea without power and plumbing in this wild documentary about the infamous "poop cruise" of 2013.

It was supposed to be a luxury cruise: a four day round trip from Galveston, Texas to Cozumel, Mexico.

But for the 4,000 passengers and crew on board, the reality proves catastrophically different.

After an engine room fire destroys electrical cables supplying the entire ship, the boat is left drifting with no power for propulsion, refrigeration, lighting, air-conditioning or... worst of all, flushing toilets.

Soon raw sewage leaks out all over the ship, food supplies start dwindling and passengers begin to revolt.

As the cruise company races to control the fallout, a media frenzy ensues.

Soon everyone is talking about 'The Poop Cruise'.

Cutthroat Kitchen: Knives Out

Channel: Food Network (DStv 175)
TX Time: 17h00
Genre: Reality Competition, Food

Cutthroat Kitchen: Knives Out

Culinary skills will not be enough to rise to the top in Cutthroat Kitchen: Knives Out - where chefs must be willing to sabotage their opponents while being cunning in how they surmount the sabotages thrown their way.

Host Brian Malarkey dishes out the unpredictable and diabolical culinary challenges that will test four chefs on their cooking prowess, strategic thinking and ability to innovate under pressure.

With a starting bank of $25,000 each, the chefs will have opportunities to spend that money on advantages for themselves or on sabotages for their competition.

The last chef standing walks away with the money they have left in their bank.

In the first round of each episode, Brian sets up the challenge and dishes out the sabotages while auctioning off advantages as competitors fight to survive and see round two.

And with only one minute to gather ingredients before tackling the challenges, chefs must be quick to get what they need before the doors swing closed or risk getting stuck in the pantry.

One chef goes home at the end of round one and the winner gets an additional thousand dollars added to their bank.

In the second round, the three remaining chefs will bid on sabotages to bestow on their competition, playing a simultaneous game of offence and defence to try and make it to the end.

From foraging ingredients from a plane's bar and snack carts, to cooking a posh meal using only a hot dog roller and popcorn maker, the chefs must be strategic and crafty to navigate obstacles and outdo the competition.

Each episode will feature one judge who will determine the winner of each round, tasting and evaluating the dishes before they know what challenges and sabotages were endured.

Judges joining the fray across the season include Maneet Chauhan, Scott Conant, Alex Guarnaschelli, Aarti Sequeira and Jet Tila.

The competitor with the best dish in the final round wins the game and the remaining money in their bank.

A Crime to Remember 5

Channel: Real Time (DStv 155)
TX Time: 22h30
Genre: True Crime, Documentary Series, Docu-Drama

A Crime to Remember 5

Styles may change, but murder lasts forever.

A Crime to Remember invites you to step into the past and unravel the intricacies of real-life murder cases of the '50s and '60s.

Set against the backdrop of Studebakers, fedoras and three-martini lunches, these stories of truly mad men and women reveal complicated relationships where thwarted dreams and repressed passions led to terrible crimes.

Each hour-long episode treats you to the "through-the-looking-glass" experience of crime solving in decades past, in a pre-DNA era when 911 didn't even exist.

It wasn't just the criminals who confounded the cops, the cultural taboos and social norms of the time were also obstacles in the pursuit of justice.

Long-forgotten cases are brought to life and new details about infamous crimes are revealed.

Each narrative is driven by the voice of a fictional bystander who "knew" the victim, while reporters and police who lived through the actual case explain how the impact of the crime and investigation sent shockwaves through the community.

A Crime to Remember showcases the most compelling crimes of our past, when murder erupted from the same dark places as today, but the cops had to catch the killer with little more than a fingerprint duster and a Rolodex.

In the Season 5 premiere, "Black Sheep": Jerry Mark allegedly murders his brother and his family in Cedar Falls, Iowa on 1 November, 1975 over a will dispute.

The media dubs the mass homicides as the "Cain and Abel murders".

Mark continues to claim innocence, and his appeals centre on DNA evidence excluding him as a suspect.
