Formula 1: Drive to Survive 6

Twenty drivers — some veterans, some rookies — compete in another drama-filled and adrenaline-fueled season of Formula 1 racing.

Drivers, managers and team owners live life in the fast lane — both on and off the track — during each cutthroat season of Formula 1 racing.

Offering unprecedented access, this new season will once again take fans behind the scenes, to witness first-hand how the drivers and teams prepare to battle it out for the 2023 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

The series will offer never-before-seen footage and interviews from the sport's biggest names.

Martin Clunes: Islands of the Pacific 2

Channel: BBC Earth (DStv 184)
TX Time: 19h00
Genre: Documentary Series, Wildlife, Nature, Travel

Martin Clunes: Islands of the Pacific 2

Martin journeys West across the Pacific to the Trobriand Islands - part of Papua New Guinea.

The villagers have built a house for Martin to live in during his stay - there are no hotels and since COVID; no commercial flights.

Yet the subsistence farmers give Martin a warm welcome and he is soon put to work filling the ceremonial house with their staple crop, yams.

These islands remain incredibly remote, but cricket has found its way here and the islanders have made the game their own.

Originally used here to settle tribal disputes, it remains a colourful and enthusiastic celebration of the game.

The second island he visits in Papua New Guinea could not be more different.

The landscape of East New Britain has been shaped by frequent volcanic eruptions, and the capital Rabaul, was buried under volcanic ash from an eruption in 1994 that continued for a further 20 years.

Yet the culture and traditions of the islanders remain alive despite the eruptions and the more recent pandemic - they successfully used their shell money to purchase essentials when the world closed down.

Martin witnesses the population take to the streets to celebrate the anniversary of both their independence and the volcanic eruptions - a fitting testimony to the way the population - and wildlife - have managed to survive living on this island.

Before leaving Papua New Guinea, Martin uncovers the fragility of living in this part of Pacific and how humanity will have to adapt to survive as the world changes.

Spring Baking Championship 3

Channel: Food Network (DStv 175)
TX Time: 18h00
Genre: Reality Competition, Food

Spring Baking Championship 3

The sweetest and most decadent competition of the season is back with even more flavour and fun on the return of Spring Baking Championship.

The action unfolds as new host Jesse Palmer welcomes a new batch of nine of the USA's best bakers as they compete to create the most impressive springtime desserts to butter up the tough-love judges Nancy Fuller, Duff Goldman and Lorraine Pascale.

The bakers' skills and techniques must measure up in themed challenges celebrating spring, from Easter confections to derby desserts, and from morsels for mom to patriotic goodies.

Only one baker will rise to the top to take home the grand prize of $50,000 and the title of Spring Baking Champion.

In each of the seven hour-long episodes, the bakers must whip through two rounds of challenges and sift through surprising twists along the way.

It's no cakewalk, but the one baker with the tastiest treat in the pre-heat will earn a special advantage in the main-heat.

In the Season 3 premiere, "Easter Treats": Nine of the best bakers in America embrace the spirit of the Spring Baking season by creating Easter egg desserts and bunny cakes.

QI 22

The long-running quiz with a difference hits our screens as we reach the letter U in the alphabet.

As has been the case since the end of M, Sandi Toksvig is the host with the most, providing the panel with fascinating facts, brain-teasing questions, and setting a trap or two along the way.

Points are awarded for correct answers, and taken away for anyone who stumbles into the aforementioned traps.

In the Season 22 premiere, "Upside Down": Sandi is joined by Aisling Bea, Urzila Carlson, Romesh Ranganathan and Alan Davies for an upside-down episode.
