Originally launched as a web show, the series was picked up for 13 episodes by SABC1.

Guests in the first season include Fikile Mbalula, Siyabonga "Scoop Makhathini" Ngwekazi, DJ Tira, Nomuzi "Moozlie" Mabena and Sbu "Sbuda Roc" Motloung.

In this series, three people - some of whom are very prominent - meet to discuss relevant issues that have impacted their lives and that affect thousands of South-Africans on a daily basis, from major health matters to different social ills that are plaguing our communities.

Tri-a-logue attempts to inform, engage and spark debate in a manner that is authentic and down-to-earth, like having an easy chat with friends and sharing opinions, emotions and experiences in a frank and forthright conversation.

The topics under discussion include Living Positively with HIV, Managing TB, Living with Diabetes, Female Ex-Offenders, Living with Albinism, Alcoholism, Breast Cancer, Teen Moms and Single Dads.

The show also looks at the scourge of rape culture and gender-based violence, from the male and female perspectives.

In the series premiere, "Diabetes": Diabetes Type 1 and Type 2 is a chronic condition associated with abnormally high levels of sugar (glucose) in the blood, and can be fatal if not treated and managed properly.

Actresses Shaleen Surtie-Richards, Sophie Ndaba and journalist Karyn Maughan, who have all been living with and managing different types of diabetes for most of their adult lives, share their journeys with diabetes and how they manage the disease with their busy careers and lifestyles.
