TX Time: 19h00
Genre: Reality, Food

Dinner at Somizi's

Somizi cooks up a storm and lays out his finest china for family and friends in a cooking show that sees culinary deftness meeting hearty conversations.

The idea is to create a fly-on-the-wall format that will showcase both Somizi and his guests.

The Idols judge and radio personality, accompanied by his husband Mohale Motaung-Mhlongo, open the doors of their house to the guests and Somizi shares his story about each guest before heading to the kitchen to introduce the ingredients and the meal he will make.

From a traditional dish or bake to exotic concoctions, Somizi brings his kasi flavour and humour as he experiments with his favourite recipes and techniques.

The topics on the table vary from lighthearted to "mature and insightful" as the dinner party indulges in what Somizi whips up.

In the moments between the cooking, Somizi and guests talk, play games and make cocktails. The show closes the cooking and guests section with Somizi making a cocktail that best represents the guests.

He recaps the meal and the preparation and concludes by sharing an inspirational quote called "food for thought".

In the series premiere, the entertainer hosts actress, singer and author Rami Chuene for a night of good food and conversations.

Dive into the world of Chuene as she opens up about the entertainment industry and its hard truths, her love life and her feisty social media presence.

TX Time: 20h40
Genre: Comedy

Mister Winner

This comedy series follows the ironically named Leslie Winner, a well-meaning optimist who frequently finds himself in the midst of chaos, through a combination of silly decisions and tough luck.

However, the pressure is on now for Leslie to finally pull himself together, as he prepares for his wedding to beloved fiancé Jemma and attempts to win over his skeptical father-in-law to be.

The pressure is on Leslie to find, and keep, a job to pay for the honeymoon and wedding.

In the series premiere, "The Piano": Leslie finds a piano while on a house clearance job with his father-in-law Chris.

Chris thinks they should take it straight to the dump, but Leslie, desperate to make some money to help pay for his upcoming honeymoon, thinks he can sell it to an antique dealer for a small fortune.

After an arduous journey pushing the piano around town on foot to various shops proves fruitless, Leslie dumps the piano in an alley – only to find it starts playing all by itself.

On closer inspection, Leslie discovers he has a self-playing piano on his hands.

He attempts to sell it to the rather ferocious owner of a local Italian restaurant, who mistakenly thinks Leslie is playing the piano and offers him £100 a night to play piano in the restaurant.

Leslie agrees – what could possibly go wrong?

For a while, Leslie is getting away with it, and both Tony the restaurant owner and his punters are lapping it up.

Things turn a little awkward when Leslie's fiancee Jemma and her friend turn up, and Leslie has some explaining to do.

And even more awkward when waitress Natalie twigs what Leslie is up to and demands half his money or Tony will find out what's going on.

Channel: SABC2
TX Time: 09h00
Genre: Documentary Series

The Secret Life of 4, 5 and 6 Year Olds

It's midsummer and over the course of the holidays more than 50 children come to a specially rigged school, where they meet each other for the first time, make friends, play together – sometimes harmoniously, sometimes less so – and learn skills that will stay with them forever.

This is arguably the most crucial period in a child's development as they cross the threshold from family life into the social arena of school.

The tools of social interaction these children are learning can lay the foundations for the relationships they will form right across their adult lives.

As before the children delight us with their ingenuity, their charm and their humour as we eavesdrop on their secret world.

And seeing these pivotal ages alongside each other in one series offers an unprecedented window on the huge developmental milestones that children reach between the ages of four and six.

This time the action unfolds under the watchful eyes of three scientists.

At any one time, two of the three are present throughout and filmed in situ as they observe and comment on the development of key social skills, such as emotional regulation, empathy and morality.
