Kwarantyn

Two families will be competing for the public's vote while spending 50 days in quarantine, with the opportunity to win R250,000.

After the 8pm premiere on kykNET, the show will be broadcast live on kykNET's first pop-up channel (DStv 149), which will be available for Premium and Compact Plus viewers from 9pm.

This means that the two families need to put up with one another whilst doing their utmost to win the support of viewers.

Viewers will help decide which family walks away with the R250,000 cash prize after watching live how these two families tackle various challenges, tasks and DIY projects over 50 days in lockdown.

Each family will move into a new home adjacent to one another.

Not only will they have to live together as neighbours, but they will have to compete against each other by, among other things, trying to get more followers on social media and by trying to score points in a games night every evening.

The winners of challenges may also be rewarded with luxuries and other special perks.

Hmm.. I'm iffy about Kwarantyn - it's hardly like the families will be prepared to throw their names away like the Big Brother housemates.

I'm also concerned they might try too hard to be "the most entertaining family" for viewer votes and therefore not be real.

Can someone please explain why so many people like medical shows?! I kinda understand it with this Lenox Hill because it's a human interest show but when it comes to drama series about weekly hospital traumas I don't understand the appeal.
