The Dublin Murders

Channel: BBC First (DStv 119)
TX Time: 21h00
Genre: Drama

The Dublin Murders

Starring Killian Scott (Ripper Street) and Sarah Greene (Penny Dreadful), this psychological crime thriller is drawn from Tana French's Dublin Murder Squad novels.

Set during the height of the Celtic Tiger financial boom of the millennium, The Dublin Murders will focus on two murder investigations led by ambitious and charismatic Detectives Rob Reilly and Cassie Maddox.

The victims - a young talented ballerina who is found dead on an ancient stone altar; and a vivacious free-spirited woman, who is found stabbed in a roofless famine cottage - are seemingly unrelated, but as we will discover, are actually knitted together by powerful shared themes.

These include the macabre 'red in tooth and claw' elements of both stories, and their heart-thumping psychological thriller qualities.

Ralph Angel is managing fatherhood and his complicated relationship with ex-girlfriend Darla after learning he is not the biological father of his son, Blue, and is encouraged by an old friend to create opportunities for formerly incarcerated men.

Lost Hearts

A classic story about friendship, love and achieving dreams.

Two women, Tessa and Marga are bound by a promise to keep their friendship forever.

This fictional drama follows them through the disintegration of their friendship, the tragedy in their lives and their children's, and their reconciliation.

They both come from poor families but Tessa and Marga always support each other as they face their issues, struggles, challenges, as well as the happy experiences of their youth.

Their bond is tested when Caloy enters their lives...

Caloy has a historical relationship with Marga, but she prefers to keep it platonic. He meets Tessa and they fall in love. Marga changes her mind about Caloy and decides she can win him back.

As Tessa pursues her dream of becoming a fashion designer, Caloy gets jealous of Tessa's mentor, the wealthy and influential Jaime Laurel, owner of a fashion conglomerate in Asia and America, who invites Tessa to one of his events.

Marga uses Caloy's jealousy to undermine his faith in Tessa, and in one drunken evening, they spend the night together.
