Season 2
The Queen extends this season from four to five days a week, to air weekdays at 21h00.
This season Rami Chuene joins the cast in the role of Gracious, a wealthy woman who has no class. Also new this season is Thato Molamu as successful up-and-coming prosecutor Bakang. Good-looking, charming and a hit with women, there's more to this sharp-shooting lawyer than meets the eye – as the Maake family is about to find out.
Recurring guest star Magic Hlatshwayo also returns as Kwanele's supportive dad, Alpheus, who comes back to help his son find his feet again.
This season, Kagiso starts a war against his family - but will he be able to see it to the end? Meanwhile, Harriet's empire comes under threat from new fronts, and Kea is the hero who saves a loved one from a dangerous situation.
Created by Ferguson Films, The Queen is executive produced by Connie Ferguson and Shona Ferguson, with producers Lauren Nell and Amanda Quwe. The pilot episode was written by Phathu Makwarela and directed by Andries van der Merwe. Makwarela and Gwydion Beynon are the series head writers. The theme music and score is by Joel Assaizky.
