Only the last person remaining at the end will take home the mega jackpot of R2-million.
Along the way Big Brother, that infamous and legendary character at the centre of it all, will no doubt be introducing his own twists and turns into the game.
Given that this is a 100% South African version of Big Brother, and South Africa has 11 official languages, housemates can speak in any of these languages although Big Brother himself will primarily communicate in English.

This season, the theme is titled Bazozwa, which is about reclaiming space and making noise, a call to action for a generation that refuses to be ignored and silenced.
Bazozwa comes with new game mechanics which will keep housemates on edge and viewers guessing.
One of the additions is the introduction of two new shows on Thursday and Friday - one being a sit down with the evicted housemate and the other being a roundup of all the week's drama.
Expect contestants filled with big personalities, bold dreamers and game-changers, all determined to win the prize and the nation's hearts.
This time around, Biggie is giving a voice and a second chance to seven former housemates who had a short run in their respective seasons.
The former housemates get to have a second shot at competing in the new season.
The seven Big Brother alumni stepping back into the spotlight are Dube, Mmeli, Fahima, Sipha Lee, Bravo B, Lerato and Liema.
Their return was not guaranteed, as their fate lay in the hands of the viewers, who were asked to vote for the former housemates.
The four housemates with the highest votes join the house and the new faces of this season, when the results are announced live during the season premiere.
The real question is: who will rise?
