Avatar: The Last Airbender

A young boy known as the Avatar must master the four elemental powers to save a world at war — and fight a ruthless enemy bent on stopping him.

A live-action reimagining of the Nickelodeon animated series following Aang, the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation.

Water. Earth. Fire. Air.

The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them.

But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world.

With the current incarnation of the Avatar yet to emerge, the world has lost hope.

But like a light in the darkness, hope springs forth when Aang, a young Air Nomad — and the last of his kind — reawakens to take his rightful place as the next Avatar.

Alongside his newfound friends Sokka and Katara, siblings and members of the Southern Water Tribe, Aang embarks on a fantastical, action-packed quest to save the world and fight back against the fearsome onslaught of Fire Lord Ozai.

But with a driven Crown Prince Zuko determined to capture them, it won't be an easy task.

They'll need the help of the many allies and colourful characters they meet along the way.

The Secret Genius of Modern Life 2

Hannah Fry uncovers the secrets behind the miraculous technologies of the modern world, revealing the mind-blowing stories behind their invention.

The Secret Genius of Modern Life returns to our screens with Hannah delving into the mysteries of modern technology to uncover the fascinating stories behind the everyday objects that we take for granted.

We don't often stop to think about it, but we're all living in a golden age of technology.

From domestic appliances with motors faster than F1 cars, to smart devices with the power of supercomputers: our homes and our pockets are filled with gadgets and inventions that, 20 years ago, would have been the stuff of science fiction.

They've become such an integral part of our lives, we've forgotten to notice how clever they are.

Hannah once again takes us on a deep dive to uncover the unbelievable, and sometimes hilarious, stories behind modern day technology.

Taking apart a different piece of technology in each episode, with exclusive access to major technology companies like Samsung and Dyson and speaking to some of the world's leading innovators, the second season sees Hannah uncover:

How catching a French 19th century serial killer helped shape the modern-day passport control.

The key component in vacuum cleaners developed for a secret atomic bomb lab.

How a Mormon preacher's sermon was crucial to the development of today's headphones.

How South Korean sausages shed new light on the inner workings of our smartphones.

In the Season 2 premiere, "Passport": Hannah gains access to a top-secret site where anonymous staff and the latest tech work to make the British passport one of the most secure documents on the planet.

She reveals the World War I spy craft hidden in the pages of every passport and takes a look into how modern ID checks were shaped by the hunt for a 19th-century French serial killer and 1970s psychedelic art.

Fright Club 2

Channel: Travel Channel (DStv 179)
TX Time: 21h10
Genre: Reality, Paranormal

Fright Club 2

It's creepy, raucous and a freaky good time - welcome to round two of Fright Club.

Paranormal investigators Jack Osbourne and the Ghost Brothers - Dalen Spratt, Juwan Mass and Marcus Harvey - are back in club headquarters resuming their competition to creep each other out with the craziest paranormal videos they can find.

The rules are the same, but the competition is bigger, and a few special guests are now getting in on the action.

In each episode, Osbourne and the Ghost Brothers share jaw-dropping videos of UFOs, ghostly apparitions, poltergeists, cryptids and all the unexplained that's in between, imparting their witty flavour into their expert analysis of each one.

They'll talk with the witnesses who captured the footage and get intel from psychics, historians, cryptozoologists and more before ultimately voting on each episode's "nightmare" clip - the winner of the wildest video takes home the coveted Golden Boo statue.

This season, a few familiar faces join the party to share videos, insight and their own paranormal stories - including Howie Mandel, Tommy Davidson, McKayla Maroney, Jay Mewes, Montel Williams, Jamie Kennedy and Richard Lawson.

In the Season 2 premiere, "Little Prop of Horrors": Jack, the Ghost Brothers and actor Richard Lawson get a little too close for comfort to a cursed prop from a classic horror film.

A paranormal investigator has a serious case of resting witch face and an alien gets its freak on in Brazil.
