Vice President Kamala Harris: Chase the Dream
M-Net (DStv 101)
Follow the journey of Kamala Harris, the first black woman and South Asian American to serve as the Vice President of the United States as she chased the dream from classroom to courtroom, and now to the White House.
The American Dream is alive and well. Just ask Kamala Harris.
A blending of Jamaican and Indian roots is clearly a colourful recipe for success.
Yes, the road turned a bit rocky due to parental divorce when she was seven then moving to Montreal, Canada for her mother's university hospital job.
The first-born child of a California research biologist and economics professor, Harris would also defy ethic stereotypes by earning a law degree from the University of California in 1989.
From classroom to courtroom, Kamala Harris is now the first black woman and South Asian American to serve as US Vice Prez.
Law and order was her calling.
It was a career highlighted by seven years as San Francisco's District Attorney then six more as California's Attorney General.
Her first term in the US Senate was cut short by the campaign.
It makes sense that the girl who once attended services at both black Baptist churches and Hindu temples has espoused liberal policies on minority rights, immigration, gun control and climate change.
Her first name certainly fits since in Sanskrit, "Kamala" means "lotus" which is a flower than can rise from deep waters and re-emerge in full bloom.
Rich Kids of Beverly Hills 2
eReality (Openview 108)
Hermes, Prada and plenty of drama.
Mixed (shaken, not stirred) with bottle service, selfies and growing #instafame, that's what you can expect when Rich Kids of Beverly Hills returns for Season .
Welcome back to the 90210, which has acquired a new resident as EJ Johnson relocates to Los Angeles and joins his friends in the fabuluxe zip code over flowing with sunshine, designer fashions and plenty of plastic by way of surgery and credit cards.
The new season kicks off with a trip to China for the opening of an elite department store that just so happens to be owned by Dorothy's retail mogul father.
Joining Dorothy on the trip are Morgan, Brendan, Jonny and Roxy, who is growing tired of Dorothy's reoccurring jabs about her career, style and being financially cut-off by her parents.
However, Roxy isn't the only one carrying drama in her couture luggage as Dorothy's boyfriend Cooper is inexplicably absent from the crew's overseas adventures.
Even with the galas, VIP treatments, amazing sightseeing and being surrounded by her #BFFs, Dorothy is still distracted by what appears to be a major bump in her relationship and an opportunity to show Cooper the Wang empire.
Sounds like love is a battlefield, even when that battlefield is a multimillion dollar property in Beverly Hills and you're worth billions of dollars.
Love and rocky romances are at the forefront of the twenty-somethings' lives in Season 2.
Roxy and Jonny are both ready for a serious relationship and turn to each other for support and encouragement.
The besties even venture off on a double blind date, but not before Jonny gets a little style makeover from EJ.
Meanwhile, after Morgan turned down Brendan's proposition to move in together before he put a ring on it, the dynamic between the couple has become strained.
Once inseparable, the couple is noticeably spending more and more time apart as Brendan's real estate career begins to skyrocket.
Questioning where her relationship stands, Morgan turns to her friends for advice and takes a girls trip to Hawaii for some much needed r&r.
But as everyone knows, where there's a girls trip, #drama always follows.
While Morgan is off with the girls, Brendan questions if his girlfriend is still the one.
As the #RichKids begin to delve further into their personal careers, EJ, the youngest member of the group strives to figure out how to build his fashion empire.
The fashionista, who has publically embraced his sexuality, plans the launch of his fashion blog, giving his followers more of the style 411 they've become accustomed to.
Similarly, Jonny taps his #instafollowers and headlines a campaign for members of the LGBT community called #ComingOutMatters, where he opens up about being bullied as a teen for being gay and encourages others to support each other through sharing their stories via social media.
While Roxy works on growing her interior design business and the popularity of Morgan's blog BoobsAndLoubs.com continues to grow, Dorothy struggles to build a career that she feels will make her father proud.
The socialites of Beverly Hills will also take on the wilderness when Brendan leads a camping expedition forcing the troop to trade designer perfume and spa days for bug spray and tents.
But once back in their natural habitats, the #RichKids must face their real world problems like #frenemies pool party attendance, car shopping, oh... and some impending heartbreak.
If money is the root of all evil, then this season is going to be one hell of a ride... in a Porsche no less.
