Point of Order

Channel: SABC2
TX Time: 19h00
Genre: Game Show, Comedy

Point of Order 2

When parliament becomes comedy, this show turns comedy into parliament.

Point of Order is an original, weekly panel show hosted by Madam Speaker Tumi Morake.

This is where top comedians pretend they're politicians and show off their knowledge of national and world affairs – or lack thereof.

Point of Order is a TV show set in a mock parliament where local comedians become "Government" and "Opposition" and face off against each other in a series of rounds, each designed to test the knowledge, wit and quick thinking ability.

Presiding over it all is Madam Speaker, gavel in hand, ready to keep order, and possibly even recognise people.

The show allows for SA's top comedians to introduce important and vital new laws, like there must be a compulsory quota of 90% local content when singing in the shower..

It also gives special guests a chance to talk... well politics, almost like real MPs do – perhaps only a little more intelligibly.

This isn't fast paced stand up; this is a more off the cuff atmosphere as the comedians don't know what's coming next.

Atlas of Cursed Places

Channel: National Geographic Channel (DStv 181 / StarSat 220)
TX Time: 21h00
Genre: Documentary Series, Supernatural, Paranormal

Atlas of Cursed Places

Author and adventurer Sam Sheridan travels the globe in search of the most cursed places on Earth.

Entrenching himself in macabre modern day culture, Sam explores the region's haunting history and fascinating folklore, employs cutting-edge science to illuminate the dangers of the curse, and paints a new and revealing portrait of a doomed place and the people who live there in the process.

In the series premiere, "The Curse of Vlad The Impaler": Everybody has heard about Dracula, a blood-thirsty monster who invokes immortality with a bite on the neck.

But many believe the real Dracula was a 15th century eastern European ruler with a penchant for impaling enemies, Vlad Tepes, whose curse upon his homeland has lasted for six centuries.

With the help of emerging science in the field of genetics, Sam investigates the curse of Vlad the Impaler.

MasterChef Junior

Move over grown-ups! Kids take over the kitchen on the series premiere of culinary competition series Masterchef Junior.

The MasterChef judging panel - host and award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay, restaurateur Joe Bastianich and acclaimed chef Graham Elliot - welcomes the series' first-ever batch of kids to the kitchen, where they will prove their passion for cooking in the auditions round.

Twenty-four of the best junior home cooks in the country between the ages of eight and 13 will compete in the first audition round and present their dishes to the judges.

The kids will split up into three groups of eight and, as a group, create their best seafood, pasta or dessert dishes.

Those who impress the judges will earn a white MasterChef Junior apron and advance to the MasterChef Junior Top 12.

Then, the following week, the Top 12 finalists will compete in the first challenge to prove they have what it takes to be a junior MasterChef.

This season, the MasterChef Junior finalists will compete in a series of delicious challenges and cook-offs, including a cupcake challenge, a tag-team Beef Wellington challenge and the always difficult restaurant takeover, during which the kids will prepare a three-course menu at a celebrated fine dining restaurant in downtown Los Angeles.

Along the way, the judges will coach and encourage the budding cooks until one talented kid is named America's first-ever MasterChef Junior and win $100,000.
