The BET Hip Hop Awards is an annual celebration that pays homage to a culture that changed the world while highlighting hip hop's elite and rap's newest game changers.

BET Networks delivers the best in hip-hop for an unforgettable night of performances, cyphers and tributes honouring hip-hop legends who continue to make hip-hop culture a global force.

Hosted this year by Lil Duval, this year Lil Kim will receive the 2019 "I Am Hip Hop" award.

The ceremony returns to Atlanta with performances by global superstars and Atlanta natives Offset and Lil Jon; Megan Thee Stallion; Rick Ross; 2019 BET Awards Best New Artist Winner Lil Baby; Chicago's own Chance the Rapper; winner of The Masked Singer T-Pain; as well as Rapsody, YBN Cordae featuring Anderson .Paak, Saweetie, KaMillion and Tom. G.

Presenters for the evening include R&B superstar Teyana Taylor and Academy Award-nominated actor and star of Queen & Slim, Daniel Kaluuya.

For the first time ever, the BET Hip Hop Awards will also include a live battle rap hosted by Ultimate Rap League founder Smack, featuring noted battle rappers DNA, Geechi Gotti, T-Top and Shotgun Suge.

DJ Holiday will serve as the official announcer and house DJ for the evening.

Mome rose to fame as one of the four friends on the Vuzu docu-reality show Cream Cartel, in 2009.

Tol A$$ Mo (real name Mongezi Mahlangu) is a comedian who was the first featured comedian on Kagiso Lediga's comedy reality television series Opening Guys in 2010, in which he was described as a protégé of Loyiso Gola.

The couple got married and featured in their own reality series Mo Love, in 2012.

I remember Mo and Mome's reality show back in the day, good to see they're still together and going strong. Didnt realise Mo's surname is Mahlangu, thought he had a Xhosa-sounding surname

Hey Timone - yeah, Mome's surname before she was married was Nale. She took on Mo's surname when she got married. You know your stuff!
