Season 1

This show, which aired for six seasons, is set in a maximum-security prison. Oz is the nickname for Oswald State Correctional Facility.

Most of the show is set in an eperimental unit of the prison called Emerald City. Here, the manager tries to emphasize rehabilitation and learning.

It is narrated by a wheel-chair bound Augustus Hill, and the mail plot revolves around the rivalries between the different prison gangs, which often result in violent murders and retaliation.
