Once again celebrities and everyday South Africans go head to head for a chance at winning R1-million in Jamaica when Season 5 of Tropika Island of Treasure launches - now on new channel SABC1.
The seven celebrities are hip hop artists AKA and Da L.E.S., urban pop artist Mario Ogle, actresses Jay Anstey, Pearl Thusi and Phuti Khomo and the late model Reeva Steenkamp.
They will be joined by seven contestants from all corners of the country:
Electronic data interface developer Anver Klasse from Port Elizabeth
Aspiring actor Duan Wanty from Pretoria
Client relationship manager Amy Arulappan from Phoenix
Retail sales consultant and student Katleho Molai from Fourways
Merchandise manager for Khuli Chana, Kefentse Moagi, from Thembisa
Executive secretary Mbali Ngaleka from Hammarsdale
Real estate and media studies graduate Sinethemba Buthelezi from Escourt
The 14 contestants will be living it up on the desirable Caribbean island of Jamaica to experience the glorious lifestyle offered by the famed destination whilst competing for the R1-million.
The 14 contestants battle it out each week in exciting yet challenging games, with the losing contestant being eliminated in every show.
In the finale, the final four will go head-to-head in a series of challenges with the ultimate goal of winning the R1-million.
This season is hosted by DJ Fresh with Jamaican beauty queen Rosina Casserly. The format has been expanded to one hour from the previous half-hour seasons.
The fifth season was won by rapper Da L.E.S.
