Bio
Ruben Engel is a South African actor and model best known for his role as Winston Phillips, the husband of Dalene (Chantal Stanfield), in the SABC1 drama series Montana, replacing the late Az Abrahams in the role.
Ruben was also the runner-up in the Mr. South Africa pageant in 2009. He attended the University of Cape Town, where he studied a BA Theatre and Performance.
Although his role on Montana was his first major television acting role, Ruben has acted in numerous theatre productions including The Second Coming, House of Shadows, Three Sisters, The Park and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, in which he played Guildenstern.
He also played the role of Waheed Hassen in the fourth episode of the M-Net docu-drama series Crimes Uncovered, in 2012, which dramatized the murder of Taliep Petersen.
Fluent in English, Afrikaans and German, Ruben currently resides in Cape Town.
