Starring Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey, and set in the Washington Territory in 1854, the series follows the matriarchs of two very different families: the Van Nesses, a dynasty of wealth and privilege led by Constance, and the Abandons, a found family of orphans and outcasts fiercely protected by Fiona Nolan.
The families find their fates linked by two crimes, an awful secret, star-crossed love and a piece of land over a silver lode.
Their collision in a place just beyond the reach of justice echoes the perpetual American struggle between the haves and have-nots.

In each episode of Weakest Link, hosted by Jane Lynch, eight contestants enter the studio as total strangers but must work together to bank the maximum amount of prize money available in each round.
The contestants take turns to answer general knowledge questions to build chains of correct answers.
Consecutive correct answers greatly increase the value of the chain, while incorrect answers break the chain and force the contestants to start over on the lowest rung with the smallest amount money.
At the end of each round, contestants vote to eliminate the fellow contestant they consider to be the "Weakest Link" in the chain.
The contestant who receives the highest number of votes leaves the game as Lynch declares the iconic phrase, "You are the Weakest Link. Goodbye."

Hosted by Retta, known for her roles in Parks and Recreation, the new season will showcase tours of 15 properties nominated by homeowners who believe their design-challenged home is among the worst in the country.
During the season, Retta will share her hot takes and reviews of each horrendous property, commenting on wacky layouts, clashing designs and severely outdated styles.
Based on its ugly appearance, poor functionality and surprising design choices, one house will be deemed the "ugliest house in America" by HGTV and the network will award its homeowners $150,000 renovation completed by Alison Victoria.
In each episode, Retta will tour three homes where she shares her unfiltered reactions to all sorts of hair-raising designs from decades old wall-to-wall pink carpeting and elaborate bathroom tiles and chandeliers to homes with multiple non-functioning kitchens and tanks designed to house baby alligators.
Throughout the season, Retta will see the best of the worst across the US and help a lucky homeowner transform their unsightly house into a stunner.
In the end, the home deemed "the ugliest" will be transformed from a beast into a beauty.
In the series premiere, "Getting Ugly in the Midwest: In the Midwest, Retta tours three truly heinous homes vying for the chance at a $150,000 makeover by Alison Victoria.
She'll get an inside look at an underwater sea palace, a 1960s throwback and a former funeral home.
In the second episode of the weekday double bill, "Finding More Ugly in the South": Retta is off to the Southeast to check out the ugly home competition.
She explores a sardine can house with more than one snake problem, a property with a questionable past and a home that looks like a vintage bank.
