But when she's rebuffed, Harry decides to solve the crime herself.

Recruiting an unlikely young sidekick, she finds a new path as a private investigator.

In the series premiere, "When Harry Met Fergus": While recovering at the home of her son, senior detective Charlie, Harry looks at his files and realises his latest investigation bears similarities to an obscure Elizabethan play.

After Charlie dismisses her insights, she decides to find the killer - with aid from a surprising source.

In the second episode of the weekly double bill, "Samurai Plague Doctor Kills for Kicks": Due to their new notoriety, Harry and Fergus are approached by a woman desperate to find out how her husband died.

Although reluctant to get involved, Harry's interest is soon piqued.

When she and Fergus uncover a deadly gambling operation, Harry turns over the evidence to Charlie, vowing to stay out of it.

Unfortunately, the killers have other ideas.

Definitely watching The Staircase documentary to see if I agree with my previous verdict.

I've watched the Toni Collette drama series and concluded he's guilty so I'm quizzy to see if I feel the same with this.
