Great African Mysteries

In this local production, we uncover some of the biggest mysteries in South African history.

Presented by talk radio host John Robbie, Great African Mysteries will unlock the secrets of Africa's past, from fossils that reshaped the human story with the discovery of Homo Naledi, to South Africa's greatest treasure hunt in the form of the Kruger Millions - the hoard of gold which Paul Kruger supposedly hid from the British during the Second Boer War.

It also investigates events surrounding the crash of a South African passenger aircraft, known as the Helderberg, in 1987 in which all 159 people on board were killed.

The show delves into these three major mysteries with fascinating interviews and archival footage.

What happened to the Ark of the Covenant?

And do newly declassified documents provide answers to the assassination of JFK?

With contributions from top historians, authors, scientists and researchers, History's Greatest Mysteries will explore possible explanations to some of the world's most confounding events.

In the Season 4 premiere, "The Loch Ness Monster": Despite centuries of sightings and searches, one of the most infamous deep-sea monsters remains unidentified.
