Misha and the Wolves

Channel: Netflix South Africa
TX Time: 10h00
Genre: Documentary

Misha and the Wolves

As a little girl, she escaped the Holocaust and lived among wolves. Or did she?

An extraordinary story elicits sympathy — then draws scrutiny.

A young orphaned girl survives the Holocaust by fleeing her home in search of her parents, escaping Nazis by sticking to the woods and living with wolves.

Author Misha Defonseca's story is an incredible one, and not just because of the wolves.

Her memoir took the world by storm, but fallout with her publisher-turned-detective exposes the shocking truth beneath Misha's deception.

A real-life mystery unfolds, with a slate of characters individually revealing pieces of the puzzle in this stranger-than-fiction revelation.

Reenactments, interviews and archival footage blend to tell a vivid story about truth, deception and self-preservation in director Sam Hobkinson's film.

Each peeled-back layer is met with surprise, prompting larger questions as the story twists and turns.

Whom do we trust, and what motivates deception? Where does the line blur between victim and perpetrator?

Hobkinson brings fresh understanding and perspective to a story that might sound familiar to some, while delivering a gripping plunge for anyone new to the saga of Misha and her wolves.

Bob Hearts Abishola 2

Channel: Vuzu (DStv 116)
TX Time: 18h00
Genre: Comedy

Bob Hearts Abishola 2

From Two and a Half Men producer Chuck Lorre, Bob Hearts Abishola is a love story about a middle-aged compression sock businessman from Detroit who unexpectedly falls for his cardiac nurse, a Nigerian immigrant, while recovering from a heart attack and sets his sights on winning her over.

Bob runs his family's successful, highly competitive sock company with his mother, Dottie, his sister, Christine, and his younger brother, Douglas.

When the stress of the job lands him in the hospital, he meets Abishola, his kind, hard-working nurse whom he's immediately drawn to.

Now all Bob needs to do is convince her to give him a chance, which will take some doing since they couldn't be more different.

After coming to America from Nigeria to find a better life for her and her son, Dele, a straight-A student, Abishola lives in a small apartment with her super-protective relatives, Auntie Olu and Uncle Tunde.

Abishola's close friends include fellow nurse Gloria and Kemi.

Undaunted by Abishola's lack of initial interest or the vast differences in their backgrounds, Bob is determined to win her heart, in this comedic examination of immigrant life in America.

In the Season 2 premiere, "On a Dead Guy's Bench": Bob enlists Tunde's help to buy an engagement ring, but his plans to propose to Abishola are upended by her belief that a traditional marriage is more trouble than it's worth.

The Last Kingdom 4

Channel: M-Net (DStv 101)
TX Time: 22h30
Genre: Period Drama

The Last Kingdom 4

Based on Bernard Cornwell's best-selling novel series The Saxon Stories, the next installment of the epic drama will see Alexander Dreymon reprise his role as Uhtred.

After the death of Alfred, the alliances between the kingdoms are fractured.

The new King, Edward, is intent on isolating Wessex and strengthening his reinforcements against possible Dane incursions, while Lord Aethelred of Mercia makes ambitious plans to establish himself as a rival to Wessex.

When Northumbria also faces hostility, Uhtred believes the timing is right to challenge his uncle Aelfric to take back his ancestral home, Bebbanburg.

But fate shifts in a different direction; news comes that Mercia is in turmoil, and Uhtred's affection for Aethelflaed drives him back into the politics that threaten to break out into war.

Just as it seems that peace can be found between the Saxons, a new and unprecedented Dane enemy takes them by surprise.

Uhtred begins to realise that his destiny is tied to Alfred's dream and he becomes determined to resolve Saxon struggles before the possibility of England slips from their grasp forever.
