Op my Eish!

Neels van Jaarsveld, known for his roles in many TV series, movies and plays - not to mention the advertisement that made him famous and which the show is named after - is looking for true love, and he hopes to find it through this new reality show.

Neels asked his old friend Henré Pretorius to help him find the leading lady for the next chapter of his life movie.

Henré wears more than one hat in the series – he's the presenter, but also a friend to Neels and a one-man support network for the women who entered the competition.

Although Neels decides who's sent home, Henré also gets to know the women better in order to see whether they could be a match for Neels.

Life in Colour with David Attenborough

Channel: Netflix South Africa
TX Time: 10h00 (all episodes)
Genre: Wildlife, Nature, Documentary Series

Life in Colour with David Attenborough

David Attenborough travels the world from the rainforests of Costa Rica to the snowy Scottish Highlands to reveal the extraordinary and never-before-seen ways animals use colour.

The natural world is full of colours. For us, they are a source of beauty, but for animals they are a tool for survival.

David Attenborough reveals the extraordinary ways in which animals use colour: to win a mate, to fight off rivals and to warn enemies.

In India, peacocks dazzle females with magnificent tail feathers; a tiny hummingbird in the deserts of North America unfurls his spectacular headdress as he dances for a mate; and in the darkness of a rainforest, powerful mandrill baboons signal their status with red and blue face masks, while tiny frogs warn of deadly poisons with brilliant colours.

New camera technologies - some developed especially for this series – also allow us to see colours and patterns usually invisible to human eyes.

Ultraviolet cameras reveal bright signals on a butterfly's wings and facial markings on yellow damselfish that are used as secret communication channels.

Some animals can also detect polarised light, and specialist cameras can now show us how fiddler crabs see the world, and how mantis shrimp have strange polarisation patterns on their bodies to signal to a mate or rival.

Die Groenste Vingers

Channel: kykNET (DStv 144)
TX Time: 21h00
Genre: Reality Competition, Gardening, Afrikaans

Die Groenste Vingers

Who is going to flower? And who needs a bit more compost?

This are the questions posed by kykNET's newest florist competition program, Die Groenste Vingers (The Greenest Fingers).

There just isn't anything like a beautiful bouquet, a colourful flower arrangement on a table or a reception hall that gets a facelift with flower decorations.

Yet the people that effortlessly put together these splendid pieces are sometimes forgotten.

Die Groenste Vingers is a competition program where gardeners, florists and passionate flower-enthusiasts compete to be crowned Die Groenste Vingers-winner.

Contestants take on different challenges weekly in which each will have to design a unique arrangement, whereafter the judges will decide who is still flowering and who has wilted...

Edrien Erasmus is the host of the series.

Contestants must impress two world-class flower connoisseurs:

Franz Grabe is a flower couture genius who has done weddings and corporate functions as well as flower-dresses for various clients, including Oprah Winfrey.

The other judge, Leon Kluge, is an internationally-recognised landscape artist who has won awards worldwide, including a number of gold medals for his gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show.
