Only One Mother (Solo Una Madre)

Channel: Eva (DStv 141)
TX Time: 19h00
Genre: Telenovela

Mothers (Solo Una Madre)

The story of Lucero, a humble young florist in New York, who falls in love with a young man named Ever while visiting her sick father.

A few weeks later, in Peru, she finds out she's pregnant.

Marjorie is a rich, conceited and arrogant young woman who, like Lucero, expects a son. Months later, they give birth on the same day and at the same time, but Marjorie's son is born with serious respiratory problems, unlike the son of Lucero who is born healthy.

Marjorie's mother, Vicky, who loves the boy more than his own mother, is the first to know about the health problems.

She is devastated and asks the nurse to swap the boys in exchange for money, since her daughter would not bear it – after much insistence, the nurse agrees and swaps the babies.

Lucero's love for Miguel - who's not her real son - is very strong and he eventually recovers.

Arturo, her biological child, is going to have a rich and prosperous life, being loved by everyone except Marjorie.

The years will pass and the two young people from different social classes will have to face the truth and their circumstances.

The Twinstitute

Channel: BBC Earth (DStv 184)
TX Time: 19h00
Genre: Documentary Series

The Twinstitute

In the heart of Birmingham, doctors Chris and Xand van Tulleken have set up a unique centre for science.

But theirs is no ordinary lab because inside it is crammed with 30 pairs of identical twins.

Thanks to their matching DNA, identical twins are the perfect candidates for scientific comparison.

Chris and Xand use this principle in The Twinstitute to put contrasting health theories to the test.

Pairs of twins are split into two groups and each challenged to carry out a task. The results, from diet tips to health tricks, reveal ways we could all make lifestyle improvements.

First up is one of the biggest questions of them all - is there a best way to lose weight? The Twinstitute pits diet against exercise.

With over 60 per cent of Brits currently either overweight or obese, losing weight is a priority for many, but which is the healthier way?

To find out, two pairs of identical twins are going to go head to head for science.

TVSA used to have an Idols SA weekly feature with updates on the theme for that week and the songs that each contest would sing the coming episode, etc

Ah yes - we certainly hope to be running that weekly feature once we get to the Top 10. We're awaiting confirmation from the show that we can get that info - I'll let you know once we hear from them.
