Nothing's happening to Soccerzone - SABC1 Channel Head

We've been getting queries about Soccerzone and whether or not it's been cancelled by SABC1 following recent reports that the show's getting canned in favour of a highlights show without presenters.

When the channel announced the blitz of changes earlier this week there was no mention of the show so we got in touch with the head of SABC1, Maijang Mpherwane, to find out what's going on. According to Maijang, it's going ahead as usual with no changes to the format or the presenter line-up.

"There's nothing happening to Soccerzone," he told us. "Soccerzone continues in the Monday slot at 21h00 as has previously been the case up until now."

He went on to say that the channel would have made the announcement this week if there were changes to it so it turns out that no news has been good news if you enjoy the show.

I do watch soccer zone and sports@10, I like Thomas's presenting skills and how he engages with the guests, however Minnie on Soccerzone is boring AF, she is just a pretty face, the previous week she was holding it for Thomas, I couldnt watch for a minute, changed channel, Thomas can read the tweets there is no need to have Minnie there and she knows little about soccer
